We already said “I do,” now we want you there too! Please join us for an intimate celebration of our marriage with friends and family on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024. The evening will begin with a brief exchanging of vows, followed by drinks, dancing and a delicious BBQ dinner. Questions? Check out our Q&A page!
Sat, Sep 21, 2024, 4:00 pm - Sun, Sep 22, 2024, 1:00 am
Semi-Formal: Suits and cocktail dresses are welcome, as are tuxes and gowns.
All food is gluten free and nut free, made in-house at Heights Brewing. There will also be an open bar with craft beers, ciders, seltzers and non-alcoholic options.
Yes! We eloped in Austin, TX in September 2023 while we were still settling in to new jobs and new cities. It was an intimate and lovely ceremony, and now we’re ready to celebrate our marriage with friends and family. We appreciate your patience and are so excited to see you all!
Thanks for asking! Sophia’s pronouns are she/her/hers (for example, “She is very excited to celebrate her marriage to Robin.”) and Robin’s pronouns are they/them/theirs (for example, “They are very in love with their wife, Sophia.”). If you have questions about gender-neutral pronouns, Sophia would be happy to send you some resources. Thank you for respecting who we are — on our special day, and every day!
Heights Brewing in Farmington, MI. We’ve watched Shawn and Ryan Kavanagh (Sophia’s aunt and uncle) turn this dream into a reality over the past 3+ years, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have our special day here. So many of our special moments have happened in Downtown Farmington, it only felt right for this one to be here too. Not to mention, the food is better than Austin BBQ (and we’ve had a lot of Austin BBQ), and everything Ryan brews is delicious. We highly recommend checking them out when we’re not shutting them down for a wedding!
Yes! Heights Brewing offers a range of beers, ciders and seltzers, all made in-house. They also have a mind-blowing root beer for our NA guests.
The entire food menu is gluten free and nut free, with gluten free beverages available. For more information, please contact Heights Brewing on Facebook.
Yes! Heights Brewing has a large shared parking lot behind the restaurant. There is also street parking throughout Downtown Farmington and several other free parking lots within walking distance.
Semi-formal/brewery-chic. Think cocktail dresses, suits or whatever fits your style. The celebration will be inside Heights Brewing, but we’ll be elevating the space with romantic decor for our big day.
Respectfully, no. The celebration will take place in a brewery with limited space and no changing rooms for the littlest ones. We appreciate your understanding.
Since we’re traveling out of state for the wedding, we’ve opted for a honeypot in lieu of physical gifts. Thank you for contributing to our celebration!
Please let us know your plans by Saturday, August 3.
If that is indicated on your invite, yes! If that is not indicated on your invite, no! We’ve taken care to invite the family and friends closest to us and cannot accommodate extra guests in this intimate space.
We have reserved a block of rooms at Courtyard Detroit-Farmington Hills. Please use the link in the “Travel” section below to reserve your room at a discounted rate by August 20. There are also two other nearby hotels off Farmington Road and I-696 (a Residence Inn and a Holiday Inn), though we can’t guarantee availability there. All three of these hotels are 3 miles away from the wedding venue (about an 8 minute drive).

A block of rooms has been reserved for our guests. To receive a discounted rate, rooms must be booked using the link below by Tuesday, August 20. If you call to make your reservation, please mention the Jozwiak-Onsay wedding :)
For the Houstonians who don’t believe Detroit Style Pizza is a real thing: Come back to us once you’ve had an Anipasto salad and a Detroit Public TV.
Catch a movie at the historic Farmington Civic Theater, just steps away from our wedding venue. Sophia has performed there nearly every summer since high school.
Stop by the Farmington Farmers Market the morning before our wedding for fresh produce, delicious baked goods and live music! September 21 is also the Harvest Moon Festival, so there will likely be some special surprises in store that morning. The market is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and is another venue Sophia has frequented throughout her musical career.
Our favorite diner in town, featuring coney dogs, chicken finger pitas and saganaki (cheese on fire! What more could you want?)
Best bagels in town. Don't forget the schmear.
A must-see if this is your first time in Detroit, featuring original works by Diego Rivera, Vincent van Gogh and more. See if you can spot the WDET transmitter from the front steps!
