Yolanda's phone rang June 22, 2023 and Jon was on the other line calling to tell her that he received an "Add me" on Snapchat from Carleigh Mae and he thought she needed to know... SO IT BEGAN. Yolandas kids said that she was smiling so big on that call. They talked the next day for hours again laughing, and smiling. Jon's band was playing at Juana Pagoda's in Navarre and he invited her to come watch him. Yolanda reluctantly decided to go support a friend and that was how THIS IS US started. Jon joined her at church the next day at Jubilee and he has been serving there with her since. Each of them have said "That there is nothing like serving Jesus week in and out with everything you have inside you equally with your partner, not fighting with your partner because you choose to serve and Love Jesus". God had a perfect plan in sending Jon in the picture at that exact time not just for Yolanda but so Carliegh Mae and Ellie could see a Man can be kind, loving, caring, stable and constant. Jon had his work cut out for him as he was coming into a family of girls that trusted no one, and were scared of everything. A mother and woman that needed to see all things love but Yolanda had a steal wall around her heart, body and mind and it really took Jon seeking God's wisdom, patience, grace and mercy to get through all that. As God was using Jon to slowly heal Yolanda's heart and to love on her girls, she also was seeking God on how she can dig through the debris in Jons mind and the rubble of his shattered heart. Jons destroyed image of love, his broken trust in people and his unrealistic self blame of being a failure was a war zone in itself. Both Yolanda and Jon were wounded, battered and torn apart but together they began to allow God to heal them and as they grew closer to God they grew closer to each other the redeeming love of God began to shine through their lives thus resulting in THIS IS US! Who knew what started as a great friendships, Worship Leader and Drummer would ever come full circle to... Will you Marry Me and let This become Us! This is going to be a great life for this team, we are excited for THIS becomes US!
