Ryan and Sloane met their junior year of college in Benny’s Pizza Parlor at James Madison University. It was a very brief interaction as Sloane was catching up with a friend. They officially met when Sloane and Ryan were both invited on a spring break trip to Puerto Rico. Ryan and Sloane arrived in Puerto Rico in March 2020. As the world was shutting down from the pandemic, Sloane, Ryan, and their college friends were drinking piña coladas and lounging on the beach. After their trip ended, Ryan and Sloane went back home and it wasn’t long before Ryan texted to ask Sloane out. Once Virginia lifted their COVID restrictions, Ryan and Sloane could go on their first date. That was the start of many more date nights until they made it official at Gravely Point watching the planes fly in.

King Street in Old Town is lined with great shops, bars and restaurants. We especially love O'Connell's Pub and Fish Market Restaurant—it’s also where we had some of our very first dates!
The National Mall has so much to offer—from free museums to rich history and iconic sightseeing. We especially love the Lincoln Memorial; it’s actually where we had some of our very first dates!
This is a great spot for a picnic, where you can watch planes take off and land at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. It’s also a special place for us—this is where Ryan and I officially became boyfriend and girlfriend.
This is also a wonderful spot for a picnic, offering beautiful views of the Washington, DC skyline. It’s especially meaningful to us, as this is where Ryan proposed.
Formal Attire Guidelines: For men: A well-fitted suit, dress shoes, and a tie are recommended. For women: A midi-length dress paired with dress shoes is encouraged. Please note that the bridesmaids will be wearing light purple. If you have any specific questions, feel free to reach out to the bride and groom.
We recommend taking an Uber for convenience. However, if you prefer to drive or use the Metro, street parking is available near both locations, and L’Enfant Plaza Metro station is directly across the street from Saint Dominic Church. Please note that King Street Metro is approximately a 30-minute walk from Union Street Public House.
