I “zombied” Eric
We’ve known each other since we were about 10yrs old. We grew up in the same neighborhood and spent summers hanging out. We even had our first kiss on a dare a few weeks after I turned 12. One day Eric came over for pizza and after he left I abruptly “ghosted” him. What Eric didn’t know at the time was that my father got upset and told me to stop seeing him. I immediately disappeared from Eric’s life. Decades had passed. At this point Eric was living in CA. Meanwhile in NJ, I finally jumped on the bandwagon and created an Instagram account. That’s when I decided to “resurrect” myself. I requested to follow him and like most classic love stories, he slid into my DMs. We picked up right where we left off. We talked for hours until morning. That night Eric said he was going to shoot his shot and I naively thought he was joking. He came back to NJ and showed me he was serious. Now we’re building a life together. We have a daughter and we’re getting married!
I “ALMOST GOT SCAMMED” by Siana
After almost 25 years, I got the scammiest friend request ever from a familiar face. I mean the last time I hung out with Siana, we were walking around East Camden and Pennsauken with nothing but time and energy. Then somehow life not only took that away, but left us with some awkward encounters throughout the years. A quinceanera that we spent little time together, random sightings at Walmart, & even a guest appearance at Thai Son. It almost felt she was hiding with Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. But somehow she kept popping up. So to get a random friend request from @Sisisianaaaa, lord knows my antennas went up. I mean I had to think long and hard if this was Siana Son in the flesh or someone perpetrating Siana that really was a Nigerian scammer wanting me to learn how to trade Forex and become a millionaire by next week. The saving grace was she was mutual friends with someone that we both grew up with and lived close by. So naturally (after a thorough 3 minute investigation), I accepted that request. And to confirm she was actually Siana, I slid into the DM with the phrase I knew would dispel all doubts that ran through my mind: Ms SIANA SON… . She responded with a “Lol Soo formal” and asked about my sister and then I knew it was legit. I felt very surprised and super lucky it was actually her. I’d wondered about her over all these years. And here she was actually in my inbox. It was like finding that treasure someone had been searching for their whole life. The thing is I didn’t realize how much of an impact that Scammy friend request would have on my life. But it turned out to be not only the best decision in my life but the most important. I had an opportunity to attain the love of a woman like no other. A love that would go on to change my whole purview on life. She blessed me with the perfect child. And to have her as my wife is what will complete what has been missing the whole time. She has shown me what to love and how to love something beyond myself and beyond words. And I will forever be grateful for her.

Is there a dress code?

Thursday (welcome party): Wear white, off-white, or ivory. Dress in something between semi-casual and cocktail attire. We are hosting this exclusive welcome party for our guests and would love for everyone invited to come socialize the night before the wedding. Friday (Wedding day!): Wear something saturated in a bright color. It can be a tropical print or a solid color . Think royal blue, magentas, hot pink, lime green, yellow, orange etc. Keep in mind the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are outside so wear breathable fabric. Wear comfortable dancing shoes too! Unfortunately, we are not providing flip flops for the ladies and there will be a brief trek on the sand (block heels or wedges are recommended).

Of course! We love children. Although we recommend hiring the resort babysitting service after the reception dinner because the music and dancing may become a little inappropriate

Is Mexico safe?
Answer
While some areas of Mexico are dangerous the resort is completely safe. The AAA Four Diamond world-class resort sits on an exclusive residential double gated community in Puerta Del Mar overlooking the enchanting Isla Mujeres island. If you’re looking to do excursions outside of the resort I’d recommend sticking to attractions the resort is affiliated with and they can set you up with accommodation/transportation. For instance the resort offers a catamaran ride right from their private dock to the Isla Mujeres island. There you can explore underwater museums, Mayan temples, sea turtle sanctuaries, or enjoy snorkeling in the majestic water

Can I drink the water in Mexico?
Answer
Stick to drinking bottled water only. Do not swallow or gargle the tap water. Generally, Mexico's water is purified at the source, but the distribution system may allow the water to be contaminated en route to the tap. The resort uses a purified on site ice maker for drinks, food, and slushees so those should be safe

Do I need to convert my Dollar into Pesos?

That’s not necessary. The resort is all inclusive and if you plan on going shopping outside the resort all tourist areas accept the US dollar. You can also use your phone to look up the exchange rate before you make any purchases

Do I need to tip at an all-inclusive resort?
Answer
While gratuity is included in the cost of the all-inclusive vacation package, tipping is generally appreciated for excellent service, typically for staff providing personal services like waitstaff, bartenders, and housekeeping attendants. Also consider tipping staff members who provide extended services such as butlers, tour guides, massage therapist, golf instructors, and shuttle attendants. The amount or if you choose to do this is at your discretion

Is everything really included at the resort?
Answer
All restaurants, bars, cafes, daytime activities, nighttime entertainment, supervised kids club, supervised teen club, room service, surf pools, rock climbing, splash park, and outdoor theatre are included with the exception of optional add-on spa/beauty services, golfing, and Vista Prime (steakhouse restaurant). Although golf at Dreams Vista is an additional cost, you can access unlimited golf at the nearby Playa Mujeres Golf Course, which is a $20USD shuttle away with a green fee of $150USD

Are the reserved room blocks at the resort still available for the wedding guests?
Answer
Our room block is full, however many of our guests have found good deals on cheapcaribbean.com that include airfare and stay at Dreams Vista Cancun

Is it okay to post wedding photos on social media?
Answer
We’d prefer to have an unplugged ceremony. Which means we’d like our guests to refrain from using their phones, cameras, or tablets during the ceremony. However we encourage everyone to take pictures or videos during cocktail hour and the reception and tag us when you post it

Can I stay outside the resort and come just for the wedding?
Answer
Absolutely. There is a $100USD day pass charge to enter the resort. Just let us know so we can leave your name at the gate and reception.

Will there be assigned seating?
Answer
No. Sit next to whoever you want while you’re eating dinner. It’s more important to us that you’re on the dance floor afterwards.
