Our StoryOur Story
Shreya and Sumeet met when Shreya was on a rotation during her fourth year of medical school. After her rotation, they stayed in touch and their first date was in the summer of 2023 when they enjoyed dinner at a nice restaurant. Not wanting their date to end, they spent the rest of the evening walking along Lake Michigan, getting to know each other. Over the next couple months, Shreya and Sumeet's friendship grew, and despite their busy call schedules in residency, they spent as much time together as they could. One of their favorite early dates was a trip to Starved Rock State Park, where they discovered their shared love for exploring, hiking and the outdoors. Soon their friendship blossomed into love, and in August 2024, Sumeet proposed to Shreya at Chicago Botanic Garden. Through the challenges of residency, Shreya and Sumeet continue to love and support each other. They are excited to get married and begin this next chapter of their life together!
