As the Sangeet is a fully Indian event, we would be grateful to see all of our guests in any form of Indian clothing. If you do not already own Indian garments, we very much encourage you to try and borrow from friends if possible. If you are unable to borrow clothing, we want to emphasize: please do not feel obligated to purchase anything for the Sangeet. A festive spirit and enthusiasm for an evening of Indian music and dancing are what matter most to us. If purchasing an outfit is an available and feasible option for you, below are some websites that carry a wide range of Indian clothing at affordable prices. If you choose to book your own accommodations, Williamsburg is easily accessible from lower and mid-town Manhattan and many neighborhoods in Brooklyn, including Downtown, Fort Greene, Bed-Stuy, and Green Point. Airbnb has listings in Brooklyn, but options are scarce and you will likely have an easier time booking a hotel room.
MyMoon is just a few blocks from the Bedford Ave subway station on the L line, which connects Williamsburg to Manhattan.
