Chris and Shawna’s story began on September 27, 2023, just a few months after Shawna returned home from living in Spain. They were introduced by Sabrina, who jokingly presented Chris to Shawna as her “cousin” since they share the same last name. Chris smiled and said, “You must be Shawna.” Over the next few months, Chris and Shawna spent more and more time together—meeting each other’s friends and quickly realizing how easily they could get lost in conversations about just about anything. What started as casual time together soon grew into something much more. On January 5, 2024, after a Celtics game in Boston, Chris officially asked Shawna to be his girlfriend. From that moment on, the rest was history. Since then, they’ve made countless memories together, traveling to Florida, Arizona, Spain, Italy, and Maine. Along the way, they discovered they share many of the same favorite things: long walks, beach days, skiing, exploring coffee shops, trying new restaurants, and simply enjoying time together. Later, Shawna had the chance to show Chris where she had lived in Spain. While playing tour guide in Seville, she had no idea another surprise was waiting. On June 27, 2025, Chris proposed at Las Setas with a photographer there to capture the moment. Shawna said yes, and the two celebrated with champagne—while Shawna immediately began planning the wedding! Chris and Shawna are beyond excited to get married and continue building the life they’ve started together. They’re looking forward to their honeymoon in Las Vegas and Hawaii, adopting two kittens, tackling more home improvement projects, and most importantly, enjoying every moment side by side.
