How we met: Both of us had nearly given up with online dating after many failed attempts. In fact, Sharon cancelled her Bumble subscription and was on her last week of subscription. That week, Sharon and Greg met, forming a connection that would change the course of their lives forever. What was your first impression of each other online? (Greg) When Sharon and I met. I thought she was engaging and intelligent. But what I remember most is her infectious, giggle and her interest in bees and nature. (Sharon) When Greg and I got connected online, he was on a work trip. I really appreciated how proactive and intentional he was about scheduling video chats so that we could get to know each other. He also made me laugh a lot! First Date: Griffith Observatory, Dinner and Ice Cream What stands out about the first date? (Greg) I noticed how Sharon is very passionate and enthusiastic about a lot of things, and she gives great hugs! (Sharon): "You have blue eyes?!" We talked on video chat for almost two weeks before meeting in person. On video, Greg's eyes looked brown. When we met in person, I saw his striking blue eyes for the first time! When did you know this was it? (Greg): I knew early on, especially when Sharon drove all the way to Ventura to meet me and brought me one of my favorite treats from LA -- a Swedish Cardamon bun. It just felt right, and all the days following since have reinforced my certainty. (Sharon): It took me a little longer to be sure. We are very different, which has been a fun complement, but we are also very compatible because of so many shared values. Greg's thoughtfulness, devotion and effort he put into understanding me and to loving me well have made me feel so valued, seen and loved!
