Long story short, we met at Trader Joe's. But that's not super interesting, so let's hear the long story... Kevin remembers the beginning better than I do- in fact I don't remember this part at all. I was working at Trader Joe's in Denver and Kevin came through my line. He wanted to work at my store and was scoping the place out. As I was checking him out, he was "checking" me out too. He tells me we chatted for a little bit but that I seemed distracted (lol). He also tells me that it was his mission to date me after meeting me that day and was determined to work in my store. Kevin did get hired, and I also got promoted before his first day... making me his boss and us dating would be illegal. Kevin's reaction: "shit". We spent the next two years working alongside each other. He'd invite me out to play pool with everyone and I would always say no. We both dated other people and we'd talk to each other at work about our relationships. Eventually we talked each other through each of our breakups. I always viewed Kevin as the super nice guy and I always thought he was hot lol. After two years I was transferred to another store. Just a couple months of working at separate locations, Kevin finally asked me out to drinks... I said no. I SAID NO but asked if he would help me move instead. I had gotten my very own little 437sqft condo. Kevin of course said "yeah!" and I picked him up on the weekend. We made ONE trip before I thought to myself "ohh this guy... he's hotter than I remember" and I asked if he wanted to go get drinks instead of moving the rest of the day. He said yes (duh). We spent the rest of the day together and made plans to spend the following weekend together. This is where it gets funny. Not sure what came over me, but during "moving day," Kevin told me about these naked hot springs and I said "I wanna go!" So, for our first real date, we packed our bags and booked a stay at these naked hot springs 4 hours from Denver. Nothing like putting it all out there. It was November in Denver and snowing. We made the drive and got there late afternoon. We checked in, unpacked our stuff, and set out to hike these hot springs. We spent the night soaking in the water and drinking wine. Lots of wine. Naked. Such exhibitionists. On our hike back down to our room, I saw deer just off the trail. I was following behind Kevin and decided to detour towards the deer. Nakedly, I followed deer into the woods. Maybe I had too much wine? lol. Kevin lost sight of me. We weren't far at all from our cabin, but it was the middle of the night and pitch black. Kevin started panicking and thought for sure that he was about to be the lead suspect in my Missing Person's case. I eventually got cold and found my way back to the sauna, where Kevin was waiting and pacing. I might have gotten a small lecture about not wandering into the woods and following deer that night. The rest of the weekend was great. We saw more deer and I didn't wander off anymore. We spent nearly every day together after that. It wasn't but 3 months later that we moved him in to now "our" 437sqft condo with two cats. It's been 6 years since Kevin helped me "move." We've lived in 5 different homes, in 3 states, added 1 more cat, and had a baby. It's about time we make this thing legal!
