It was a typical Thursday evening for Bo Berry. After a long day of court filings and client meetings at his law firm, conveniently located across the street from the W Hotel in downtown Dallas, he decided to stop by for a drink. Bo had made a habit of unwinding here, where the atmosphere was relaxed, and the happy hour crowd offered a pleasant mix of professionals. Wearing his signature navy sports jacket, tan cowboy hat, jeans, crocodile skin boots and fingers spaced with chunky silver rings on each finger, Bo walked into the hotel bar, the epitome of Texas charm. Meanwhile, Shampaigne was wrapping up her day, too. As an adolescent therapist, her work was rewarding, but she often found herself thinking about venturing into entrepreneurship. That night, she had no real plans other than exploring the downtown scene. On a whim, she decided to try the happy hour at the W, a place she’d never been before but had always wanted to check out. The moment Shampaigne walked in, the air shifted. Bo, leaning casually against the bar, noticed her immediately. She was dressed in a striking red cocktail dress, standing out in the bustling room with a quiet confidence. As their eyes met from across the bar, Bo, never one to shy away from an opportunity, gave her a friendly wave, inviting her over. Intrigued and feeling a spark of curiosity, Shampaigne walked toward him. Bo smiled, tipping his cowboy hat slightly as she approached. “What are you drinking?” he asked, his Southern drawl warm and inviting. “Vodka cranberry,” Shampaigne replied, smiling back. “Coming right up,” Bo said, signaling the bartender. As they clinked glasses, the evening unfolded like something out of a movie. Their conversation flowed effortlessly. Bo talked about his love of football, his family, and of course, his beloved dogs rescued years earlier. Shampaigne shared her experiences in therapy and her growing passion for female entrepreneurship. Bo was captivated not just by her beauty, but by her sharp mind and ambition. Hours passed unnoticed. The bar crowd began to thin, but Bo and Shampaigne remained locked in conversation, finding common ground in their work, their dreams, and their shared love for family. By the time the hotel staff signaled it was time to close, neither of them wanted the night to end. Bo walked Shampaigne to her car, the cool Dallas night air swirling around them. “I don’t know about you, but I’d like to see you again,” Bo said, a hopeful glint in his eyes. Shampaigne smiled, her heart beating just a little faster. “I’d like that too,” she replied. That chance encounter turned into a love story that spanned a decade. Together, Bo and Shampaigne built new businesses, combining her entrepreneurial spirit with his legal expertise. They also became parents to their rescue dog Bubba, who quickly became the heart of their little family. They weathered challenges—both personal and professional—leaning on each other through the tough times and celebrating the wins together. As the years passed, their bond only deepened. Bo, ever the Southern gentleman, never missed a chance to remind Shampaigne of how their eyes first met across that room, or how she looked in that red dress. Shampaigne often laughed about how she almost didn’t go to the W that night, a decision that changed her life in ways she could never have imagined. Now, a decade later, they’ve decided to make it official. On May 2, 2025, they will stand together and exchange vows, the same month they met ten years prior. It will be a day filled with friends, and family at their side. The journey that started with a wave across a hotel bar will take its next step toward forever, as Bo and Shampaigne begin their married life together, continuing to build, love, and grow together as a family.
