We met back in 2008 at bailey's Bar . My friend Barbara and I was hanging out and Shedrick gave her his number and told her to tell me to call him . I played hard for a lil while but I eventually called him and we linked up . The conversation was good and he wasn't letting up . I was kind of scared cause I heard he was a player and he was! He asked me what I enjoyed doing and of course my hobby is shopping. Our first date was to"the mall" and he made it clear that day I must really like you cause I don't do this .I laughed and responded with" I'm a different breed you'll see". And from that day forward he always made me feel like a Queen when we was together! Couldn't nobody tell me nothing about Dukes!!I loved that man and everything that came with him not for what he could do for me but because of the way he loved me and how much he loved my children. and being a single parent that ment the world to me. but I also loved how much he loved his mother. i later found out that he had a lot more kids than i thought, that was a big adjustment but i loved all of his kids and that's rare, most women take the man and say forget the kids . But You can NEVER truly love a person and not love what they created. He saw the love I had for his kids and his kids knew that I loved them just like my owns, and he loved mines the same, Mira still have him wrapped around her finger. We had each other back through the good and the bad .We both was young, wild and immature ,We still had a lot of growing up to do but our downfall was ,we allowed people to destroy what we had.Everyday wasn't sunny but every day wasn't rainy neither! But the love that man had and has for me is unmatched. no man other than my father has ever loved me this much. No matter how long we was apart no matter who we was with HE was consistent and God knows I love consistency but most importantly he NEVER fully gave up on us ! I would always say if we ment to be Shedrick then God will bring us back together, but I needed him to get all that foolishness out his system and to be honest I wanted to make sure everything was out of mines too . We both needed that time apart cause we both had our flaws this thing wasn't one sided. but it helped us realize what we went through in our relationship was nothing we couldn't have gotten over, but we needed to separate cause we wouldn't be where we are today ! What I mean by that is we needed the hurt to make us love each other harder ! We needed the betrayal to make us value loyalty more! We needed to go through everything we went through in our other relationships to make us realize what we really had was a love that no other person could give us no matter how hard we tried to fight it. We bruised each other in the past and we needed that time to heal from the pain we caused each other. enough of that !! Lets fast forward 15 years later a 5 year breakup and Shedrick and I are back together and planning our wedding. When God has his hands in the pot its totally out of our control. A friendly dinner date before he head back out for work and we been inseparable every since . We both still have some thing we need to work on but the love we have for each other is unmatched . This man Shows me daily how much he loves me, appreciate me and I do the same. We remind each other how blessed we are. If I have to do life with anybody I thank God its you Mr. Dukes. I love you more today than I did yesterday and I will love you even more tomorrow and every day our love will only grow stronger . When you entered back in my life I was broken and i'm still going through a healing stage but you have given me a happiness like no other . I had given up on love. Oh But God saw different. he knew just what I needed and baby that was you. Mr. Dukes I vow to try my best to be your peace and I pray you continue to be mines ! I vow to love you even when I don't like you lol. Baby Lets enjoy this thing called life together.
