Travel

The Wedding Website of Sean Mackin and Sarah Jones
Our wedding venue is about halfway between Colorado Springs and Denver. Guests are encouraged to fly in at either Denver International Airport (DIA) or Colorado Springs Airport (COS). We have some hotel rooms blocked in hotels closest to the venue (in Castle Rock) and in the Denver Tech Center, but there are many options for guests that would like to stay in local AirBnBs or would prefer hotels closer to central Denver.

Hotel

Denver Marriott Tech Center

4900 South Syracuse Street, Denver, CO 80237

This hotel is on the Southeasternmost end of Denver, making it more accessible to our wedding venue in Larkspur. We have a block of rooms reserved here, and if it fills up we can add more. It is located in the Denver Tech Center, with easy access to bars, restaurants, shops, and the light rail. Pint Brothers Ale House is located in the hotel, where you can enjoy a local craft beer or a cocktail. There is also a market with snacks and Starbucks coffee.

Hotel

Best Western Plus Castle Rock

595 Genoa Way, Castle Rock, CO 80109

The Best Western and the Holiday Inn are the closest possible hotels to the venue. It is a 25 minute drive to Spruce Mountain and less than 30 minutes to Denver. We have 10 rooms blocked off at each of these hotels from Friday to Sunday (April 25-27th), and 5 rooms for Thursday (April 24th). The link above will bring you to our reservation link. If you want to call to book your rooms, you can use the code Jones-Mackin Wedding.

Hotel

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Denver South - Castle Rock, an IHG Hotel

610 Genoa Way, Castle Rock, CO 80109

The Best Western and the Holiday Inn are the closest possible hotels to the venue. It is a 25 minute drive to Spruce Mountain and less than 30 minutes to Denver. We have 10 rooms blocked off at each of these hotels from Friday to Sunday (April 25-27th), and 5 rooms for Thursday (April 24th). The link above will bring you to our reservation page. If you want to call the hotel to book your rooms, you can use the code JMW.

Flight

Denver International Airport

This is the main airport in the Denver Metro Area and it is located pretty far from everything. While it is possible to take public transit from the airport right to the Marriott, we generally recommend getting a cab/rideshare if you are staying there. Routes can take anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours with at least one transfer. This can be a very economical option if you are fine with that. Coordinating with fellow travelers to carpool is also an option.

Flight

Colorado Springs Airport

A smaller airport than DIA, the Colorado Springs Airport may also be a good option for your travels. It is about an hour from the suggested hotels. There are also hotels and home rentals in Colorado Springs and the towns to the north that would be convenient for driving to the venue.

Travel Note

Transportation (City, Wedding Venue)

We will have a shuttle rented on the day of the wedding to take guests from the hotels to the venue, and back later. If you are staying elsewhere, you can meet at one of these locations to take the shuttle. If you plan to explore the Denver area while you are here, you may want to rent a car, since Denver is a very car-centric city. If you want to check out the light rail, it can take you from the Marriott to Union Station downtown in under an hour.

About Us

In 2014, Sarah and Sean met at their AmeriCorps Vista Orientation in Los Angeles. They first bonded in an ice-breaker, to Sarah's delight and Sean's chagrin. They went out the next few nights to Santa Monica and Venice Beach to celebrate Sarah's birthday and made an instant connection. Afterwards, Sean went to Santa Rosa, CA for his year of service at the United Way while Sarah went to Oakland, CA to work at the International Rescue Committee, but they were already inseparable. A few years later, they moved to Chicago so Sarah could get her Master's in Education at Northwestern. After a few years of living within earshot of Wrigley Field, the pair decided to move to Denver so Sean could hike in the mountains and hang out with his oldest buds. They have a cat named Jim (Commissioner Jim Gordon, GCPD) and a dog named Winnie (Winona Ryder). After 11 years together, to their friends and families' delight, they are finally making it official next April.

FAQs

Question

Where exactly is this wedding?

Answer

We are having our ceremony and reception at Spruce Mountain Ranch. It is about halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs (approximately a 40 minute drive from Denver). We will be at the Lower Ranch area of the property in Albert's Lodge. It is a beautiful spot and we're thrilled for everyone to see it!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

In the Travel section of this website, we have included information on three local hotels in the area. Since our wedding is between Denver and Colorado Springs, we recognize that guests may have different preferences about where exactly they stay. We anticipate that most guests will either stay in Denver or Castle Rock.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is a large parking lot on the property that guests will have full access to.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We ask that guests wear cocktail attire to this event but we encourage everyone to dress in whatever you feel your best in! Please note that our wedding will be in April and the weather can sometimes be unpredictable. We recommend keeping an eye on the forecast as we get closer to the wedding and we encourage all guests to consider layers to ensure that they stay warm. The wedding and reception will be in a mixture of indoor and outdoor spaces but there is a cozy fireplace inside our primary reception room and the cocktail room.

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

Of course! We're not monsters!

Question

Can you accommodate my dietary restrictions?

Answer

Absolutely! We will not have a traditional dinner menu but, instead, Mountain Crust Pizza will be catering with fresh, customizable wood-fired pizzas and they can accommodate just about any dietary need. If you have a severe allergy or are otherwise worried about our food offerings, please reach out to the couple in advance.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We have information about our Honeyfund located in the registry section of this website. Our Honeyfund will allow guests to contribute directly to our honeymoon and help send the couple on a dream vacation to the Greek Isles!

Question

How can I best get in-touch with the bride and groom?

Answer

Feel free to email both of us! Sean: spmackin@gmail.com Sarah: jonessare@gmail.com
