1) What are my food options on the Grand Mesa?

Answer

While we will provide food at the wedding, we want to let you know that food options on top of the Grand Mesa can be sparse. The Alexander Lodge and the Grand Mesa Lodge may OCCASIONALLY serve food, but this is not guaranteed. We encourage you to plan accordingly, there are grocery stores located in Grand Junction and in Cedaredge, there is also a little grocery store within the town of Mesa on the way to the cabins where you can get your basics. We advise that you bring food up to the cabins with you. Cabins at Thunder Mountain Lodge are equipped with kitchens that include a refrigerator, stove, and an oven.

2) Is there a dress code?

Answer

We are happy to let you know that we do not have a specific dress code for our wedding! The average temperature on top of the Grand Mesa during the month of June is 68 degrees, so dress comfortably for the occasion, we highly encourage layers! Also, please keep in mind that there are quite a few mosquitoes during this time of year, and they are most active at dawn and dusk. You may want to consider using insect repellent to enjoy the festivities, which will be provided! If you do want to coordinate your outfit for the wedding, the colors are lavender and sage, but again, there is no dress code, just be comfortable. :)

We're excited to offer an open bar with a bartender during our wedding day, featuring a variety of specialty cocktails, beer, and wine for you to enjoy. If you plan on drinking on days other than the wedding, please bring your own alcohol. Cheers to a wonderful celebration, and don't forget to tip the bartender! :)

Answer

Instead of traditional wedding gifts, we have opted for a honeymoon fund to create unforgettable memories as we embark on our first adventure as a married couple. This can be found under the “Registry” tab on the website, we will also have an envelope box set up at the venue. Your generous contributions will help us explore breathtaking destinations, indulge in local cuisines, and create cherished moments that will last a lifetime. We are grateful for your support in making our dream honeymoon a reality!

6) What else is there to do while I'm in this area?

Explore the beauty and excitement that Grand Junction and the Grand Mesa has to offer! *We highly recommend taking a scenic drive across the Colorado National Monument, it's like having the Grand Canyon in our own backyard! It's about an hour long drive with plenty of lookout points, and lots of hiking trails if you're feeling adventurous! The road is called Rimrock Drive. Fun fact! Our favorite hiking trail is the Lower Monument Canyon/Wedding Trail loop! https://www.nps.gov/colm/planyourvisit/historic-rim-rock-drive.htm *Las Colonias RiverFront Park. - rent some paddle boards and float the Lazy River, or practice in the Butterfly Pond, or Zipline across the Colorado River that runs through town! https://riverfront.gjep.org/area-amenities-2/ *Dinosaur Journey Museum in Fruita, and visit Fruita State Park while you're there! If you are going to hike, don't expect to see dinosaur bones on the Fruita Paleontological Area Trail - I know, very deceiving ;) *Visit the wineries in Palisade and enjoy local tastings, don't forget to try a famous Palisade Peach while you're in town! https://www.visitpalisade.com *Rent a mountain bike and check out the many trails that Grand Junction has, including the Lunch Loops in town and the trails off of 18 road near Fruita. *Stroll along downtown Grand Junction to view the art, shop the shops, and eat the foods!
