So, it all started when we met and lived across the hall from each other during college at NJIT. Introducing herself as Lala to everyone she met our first year, and with the following year everyone remaining in the same room, the name tags on the doors left all, including Scott, asking, “Who’s Deanne?” Throughout the college years, we hung out more often. Scottie needing a shopping buddy and La more than happy to help dress him up! La used to work at the campus center and Scottie would visit during his lunch breaks at NJ Transit, and we’d play pool, ping pong, or bowling in the game room. Later on, he started a Monday night tradition at the local pub. It started with a few of us, but soon, it became a packed bar! After graduation, La’s family went to San Francisco for her grandmother’s 80th birthday, and brought Scottie along. When we came back, her cousin-in-law asked who Scottie was and why he was flying across the country to meet La’s 80-year-old grandma? That question stuck in their heads for a while, and it all came together during another Monday night tradition of Karaoke. Since then, we’ve traveled the world, learned new things, and it’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally tying the knot!
