FAQs

Question

Not sure what to wear?

Answer

Think sundresses and sandals, smart shirts and slacks. Wear what makes you comfortable and confident.

Question

What's on the menu?

Answer

It's a picnic! We'll have barbecue and sides, soft drinks, and desserts. If you have any food restrictions, please don't hesitate to reach out and let us know!

Question

I've heard St. Louis is dangerous... is it safe to stay downtown?

Answer

Yes! We love our city and would not recommend somewhere we wouldn't stay ourselves. The most common crimes in the region are crimes of opportunity, so best practice is to not leave valuables visible in your car, and don't wander around in areas you don't know late at night. While downtown is a common area for visitors to stay due to the arch, our favorite parts of the city are the walkable neighborhoods to the west and south of downtown. Visit the Travel page for a few hotel options, and check out the Things to Do page for a map of some our favorite areas.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors? What should I know about the venue?

Answer

Our wedding will be at the Kern Pavilion in Lafayette Park. The venue is a short, paved walk (~500 feet) from the edge of the park where parking is available. Please let us know if you'll need mobility support. The venue is indoors with an outdoor patio, lawn space, and a playground nearby. We will hold our short ceremony outside, weather permitting, and there will be space outside for guests to socialize and play games. Otherwise, we will eat inside. There are two restrooms on-site.

Question

When does the ceremony begin?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00 PM.

Question

Can't make it?

Answer

We will miss you! If you can't make it, please let us know - especially so that we can find a way to visit you in the near future.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Your invitation should indicate whether or not you have a plus one, but feel free to ask if you aren't sure. Space and seating at the venue is very limited, so we cannot accommodate unplanned for guests.

Registry

Your presence is gift enough. If you're feeling particularly generous, these are a few items we have had our eye on. We love to shop secondhand and, if you're in the gift buying mood, would encourage you to do the same!
