We're getting married!

Carly and Spencer met in 2017 at Walla Walla University. Those days were very complicated, they were friends, then they were more than friends, and then there was a time where they didn't talk at all. The timing was terrible. During WWU's graduation in 2019, Carly was visiting her friends that were marching In the ceremony and while on her way out of the ceremony, she and Spencer almost literally ran into each other. Their spark had never gone away, and they were elated to see each other. Unfortunately, the timing was all wrong. Carly was fresh into a relationship with someone else, and Spencer was moving back to Colorado. Fast forward two years, May 15th, 2021, Spencer realizes Carly had deleted all her posts of her previous relationship. He decided to reach out on her Instagram, commenting on a shoe post, "Soooo, You a sneaker head now?". This conversation continued on for days, then weeks, and eventually, Carly was on a plane to Colorado to see Spencer for the first time. Pretty soon it was as if no time had passed at all. Their weekends together were growing too short, and Carly had booked the next visit while waiting at Gate C39 in Denver International Airport to fly back to Seattle. They both quickly realized that they needed to be together, so they stuck out long distance for 1,254 days until January 2nd, 2024 when Spencer flew up to Kirkland to help move Carly down to Lone Tree, Colorado. Spencer constantly told Carly they weren’t getting engaged for a long time, years, and she believed him. On December 31st, 2024 they had plans to meet Spencer’s sister, Chloe and her husband Tyler for dinner before a Colorado Avalanche hockey game. Spencer told them they were going to take “family pictures for his mom's house”. Things were a little off when Chloe and Tyler showed up in the hockey attire, and Carly and Spencer wore matching outfits, which was not warm hockey attire. After dinner they all wandered over to Larimer Square. While freezing they tried to find the perfect lighting. In the middle of the square, with people around us and spirits high, Spencer knelt down on one knee, Carly was instantly giddy and wouldn’t stop moving, the speech Spencer had practiced all day went out the window, “hey, so, do you want to marry me or what?” was all she would let him get out! We cannot wait to celebrate with all of you in November!
