Josh and I have seen each other a few times here and there in passing down in St. Mary's County. We never got the chance to get to know one another or hang out for several different reasons. On June 10, 2017, Joshua messaged me and we were texting all night long right into the next day. He promised me that when he got home from his 4 week trip for work he would take me out on our first date. Fast forward the longest 4 weeks ever, and there I was on my way to the airport to pick him up, so nervous but so so so excited. From that point on, the two of us were inseparable spending every single day together till his next hitch for work.
On June 6, 2018, my mom, dad, two family friends, Josh and I were all on our way to the airport to head to Las Vegas, Nevada for my 21st Birthday vacation. I was so excited since my parents had been planning this trip for me since I was 18 years old. Little did I know this day was going to be one of the most special days in my entire life. Halfway into our flight Josh had gotten up and disappeared to the back of the plane. The next thing I heard was the pilot saying, there was a special message and to please shut all blinds and turn on the call attendant lights. At this time Josh was on his way up to the front of the plane, where I thought he was going to make everyone sing me 'happy birthday'. Wow was I wrong. As I sat in my chair, Josh read me his message where he told me how much he loved me and how he couldn't wait to spend the rest of his life with me. I could not believe that the person I had grown so close to in such a short amount of time was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Of course I said YESSS!!! It was such a special moment that both of us will cherish forever! FUN FACT: Our engagement was during the time the Capitals were playing for the Championship and our engagement video made the news channel!
