Not a hotel per se, but if you're feeling adventurous and frugal (you know I see you) there are two shelters on the AT nearby (about 20 minutes away). This option obviously requires some, research, preparation and willingness to rough it, but you'll have three walls, a roof, a fire pit, a bunk to put your sleeping pad on, and as much fresh air and beautiful scenery as you can handle. Feel free to reach out if you're interested in this option and want some tips. Sarah hiked through here on the AT almost 20 years ago. Little did she know she'd be getting married just about a mile from the trail.
Tasty bread and coffee and a lovely garden to sit in while you enjoy it. Highly recommend it. Sarah spent her 40th birthday here! (Less than a week before her first date with Phil)
If you feel like something adventurous, this would be a lovely way to spend a hot July afternoon. This website has good tips on shorter and longer segments you can do. You can even float up to a crab shack for dinner!
There are lots of good hikes in the area, but if you're looking for a ramble in the woods really near the church, drive the the South end of Millers Gap Rd--just about 5 minutes from the church.
Millworks is a fun restaurant/brewery in downtown Harrisburg. It has a great rooftop bar and also houses a bunch of local artists' studios.
We're going to be partying on the grass under the tent after the wedding, so if you do, you'll be aerating the Holy Apostles lawn and you'll probably have a hard time dancing. Flats, sandals or wedges would serve you better.
I believe the term "garden party formal" describes our level of formality. In other words, wear what you'd wear to a church if you go (or went) to a church where the women all wear dresses and the men wear ties.
Yes! Everyone will want to join in! We will be doing called folk dancing (sort of like square dancing but also lines and circles). The dancing will be after dinner from about 7-9. No experience needed, all enthusiasm welcome!

If you're responding for you and a guest (or your family), you'll be able to RSVP for your entire group on the next page.
