Sarah and Luke met on Hinge! They've done the math and concluded that even though they have a lot in common, there really isn't any other way their paths would have crossed. Luke and Sarah went to Carsonie's in Upper Arlington for their first date, talking for hours over an order of italian fries and an original stromboli (Sarah's go-to order). By their second date, they knew they had something special, and decided to make their relationship official on August 10th. The rest is history. Neither Luke nor Sarah believed in the whole "when you know, you know" thing, but that quickly changed when they found each other.

Luke moved to Cincinnati together after Luke matched for residency at Christ Hospital. Since moving, they have built a lovely community and feel right at home! They've loved finding new favorite restaurants (like Viva India, a nice five-minute walk from their apartment), exploring the parks, rock climbing, and generally exploring the city.

Luke proposed to Sarah in Red Rock State Park in Sedona, Arizona, on October 6, 2024. They were in Arizona for vacation, planning to spend a few days in Sedona and a few days at the Grand Canyon. Sarah knew the proposal would happen at some point on the trip, but didn't know when. There were a couple of moments when Luke was a little jumpy about Sarah grabbing something from his bag, so she had some suspicions. In the end, Luke surprised Sarah while they were hiking through Red Rock State Park on the second full day of their trip. They had their camera set up to take what Sarah thought were regular pictures, but ended up capturing their engagement. In the video, you can hear Sarah saying "you are not!" as Luke got down on one knee. Sarah, of course, said yes and couldn't stop staring at the ring for the rest of the trip (and she still can't!). Luke had Sarah thinking he would propose towards the end of the trip at the Grand Canyon, but he wanted to do it at the beginning of the trip so they could use the rest of their time to celebrate their engagement. Also, he wanted Sarah to be able to take as many pictures with the ring on the trip as her heart desired. Sarah and Luke like to joke that their two biggest accomplishments on their trip to Arizona were getting engaged and not getting sunburned (pretty impressive for two VERY pale humans).

We’re moving to Milwaukee! Luke matched for his Endocrinology Fellowship at Aurora St. Luke’s in Milwaukee, and will start in July. Sarah is so incredibly proud of Luke and is so excited to support Luke as he achieves his dream of becoming an endocrinologist. This will be Luke and Sarah’s biggest adventure yet and they’re looking forward to exploring an area neither of them have spent much time in.
