Newport is a historic and beautiful destination to kick off summer and celebrate love! Below are some suggestions of fun sites to explore and things to do for those planning to make this a long weekend :)
The Cliff Walk

The Cliff Walk

Craving some nature and serenity? Newport's enchanting 3.5-mile Cliff Walk is the perfect place for your moment of peace. Panoramic ocean views, crashing waves and the perfect amount of sea breeze on one side and stunning, century-old, Gilded Age mansions on the other.

Newport Vineyards

Newport Vineyards

There are over 100 acres of preserved farmland at Newport Vineyards to explore while sampling local beer and wine.

Newport Cruises

Newport Cruises

Newport cruises are a great way to relax and sight see with little effort. A favorite of the bride's is the Newport Mimosa and Lighthouse Cruise - you'll get bottomless mimosas and croissants, and gorgeous views of the Newport mansions and lighthouses :) The port where the cruise ships dock also offer excellent options for ocean-side dining and great shopping!

Downtown Newport/Thames Street

Downtown Newport/Thames Street

Downtown Newport offers great shopping, restaurants, bars, cafes, specialty stores and art shops. A great way to spend the day would be to start on Thames Street and walk down, exploring the historic homes and the prime-time Spring season in Newport.

Easton's Beach

Easton's Beach

If you are looking for an early summer beach experience, Easton's Beach is a gorgeous option that is within walking distance to local shops and restaurants. The Cliff Walk overlooks Easton's Beach, making the beach a great destination after your hike. Be sure to try the twin lobster rolls at the beach's snack bar!

The Bodhi Spa

The Bodhi Spa

Trying to save all your energy for the wedding? How about a spa day? The bodhi spa in Newport offers excellent massages and the water journey is a great way to unwind with sauna, hot tub, and thermal baths. Highly recommend :)

FAQs

Question

Can we bring kids?

Answer

While we both love children, we ask that you keep your little ones at home for the evening. All invited guests will be listed under your party name when you RSVP.

Question

What is parking like at the venue?

Answer

There is plenty of complementary parking at OceanCliff! There is limited parking at St. John's - the church has a small parking lot and there is street parking available. We recommend taking advantage of the bus if you are staying at one of the two hotels listed on the invitation.

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony will be indoors at St. John's of Newport, followed by a tented cocktail hour on the upper deck at OceanCliff. Our wedding reception will be indoors in the ballroom.

Question

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is Formal Attire. Men are asked to wear a suit and tie (tuxedos are optional). Women are asked to wear a floor-length or ankle length gown, knee-length cocktail dress, a pantsuit, or dressy separates.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

All invited guests will be named on the invitation you receive.

Question

What is the Dabke?

Answer

Our wedding will be a celebration of the coming together of cultures and families. To celebrate the bride's culture, we invite our guests to join in on the Dabke; a traditional Lebanese/Phoenician folk dance that has been passed down for generations. What started as a dance celebrating the harvest has evolved into a celebration and testament of a resilient and fun-loving people. We can't wait to share it with you! If you want to get some practice in, here is a great tutorial video (use step 1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_F9rKTdtZ0&list=PLFwp1cge_aKRXR29OkOKaCrm7D-gK8Z-Y
