How We Met
We met on Tinder in December of 2019. While the rest of the world would adapt to virtual dates thanks to the COVID pandemic in March of 2020, we were trendsetters. Luke was feeling sick and dodging Kylie's invites out on dates. To make sure she stuck around until he was better, he bought her a Nintendo Online subscription so they could Facetime and play Super Smash Bros on their first date. We quickly followed up with board game and pinball dates, and deleted our dating apps within a month.
How We Got Engaged
In September 2023, we went on a trip to Japan after both wanting to go for many years. The much anticipated trip was made even more exciting during a hike up Fushimi Inari shrine in the early hours of the morning. Kylie was hoping this might be the day, but was convinced it wouldn't happen due to the humid weather. She was even caught on video saying "Well now you can't propose to me, because I look disgusting". On their way back down the mountain, while overlooking Kyoto, he proposed anyway.

Terry Black's Barbecue
We plan on serving some of our favorite barbecue in Austin at our welcome event! But it's worth a visit to sample the whole menu! The line can be long so expect to wait a while.
Barton Springs
A beloved spring-fed swimming hole in Austin, staying a nice 70 degrees all year long.
Veracruz All Natural
Just a few blocks from the hotel, this is one of our favorite taco spots in Austin. A great place to grab a breakfast taco and walk along the bridge, taking in views of Ladybird Lake!
South Congress Avenue
A historic street in Austin, offering lots of shopping and restaurants, including a classic boot shop called Allen Boots and some fun boutiques the further south you go.
In Plain Sight
Looking for a nightcap? Austin has so much bustling nightlife with multiple districts for bar hopping! But In Plain Sight is a tiny cocktail bar not far from our reception venue. Its partner bar is Here Nor There, a speakeasy cocktail bar requiring reservations that we also highly recommend if you have a free night.

Question
Will there be parking at the reception?
Answer
There may be some street parking in the surrounding area of Parkside. However, 6th Street is shut down at 9pm on the weekends to allow easier bar hopping, meaning navigating the area with a car can be tricky. And since we will be serving alcohol at the reception, we would strongly recommend booking a hotel within walking distance or getting an Uber/Lyft.
