Sam and Abby both worked at a grocery store called Fareway in Webster City during high school, just trying to make some money. One day, Abby found herself intrigued by a mysterious boy—Sam. She turned to the coworker next to her, who happened to be one of Sam’s best friends, Chandler, and started asking questions: “How old is he? Does he go to my school? Would he like me?” Lucky for Abby, Chandler told Sam everything. Soon after, Sam added Abby on Snapchat, which led to church rides together, high school dances, and eventually the question: “Do I have to ask you to be my girlfriend?” (Yes, yes you do Sam) Sam and Abby discovered they loved spending time together in nature. Whether that's fishing, hiking trails, even snowboarding. Sam's passion is soccer and video games, while Abby's are playing softball/tennis, crafting, and baking. On July 9th, 2024, Sam took Abby to a local coffee shop in Webster City. While Abby went inside to grab her usual crazy coffee order, Sam snuck into the side garden of Morning Glory to set up a hidden camera. Abby thought they were there for a Bible study date, but Sam had other plans. When Abby came outside, Sam suggested they walk around the garden. She was frustrated, wanting to sit and read—but confused when Sam insisted, claiming, “Stop being stubborn, I’ve never been back there.” As she reluctantly followed him, she noticed something bulky under Sam’s sweatshirt and that he seemed unusually nervous. Being her curious, pushy self, Abby tried rushing ahead, but Sam pulled her back, trying to align them into the camera but also distracting Abby. Even more confused now, Abby stood still as Sam suddenly dropped to one knee and popped the question. Ladies and gentlemen… see you October 10th!
