On the first day of 2nd semester speech class, the teacher pairs Sammi and Evan up to introduce themselves. Evan came off as a slightly odd hick kid and Sammi was just shy. Soon they are seated next to each other and get to talking. Evan eventually asks Sammi on a date but gets shot down… The seating chart changes and they are separated, but Evan does not approve. He asks the teacher to be seated next to Sammi again, his wish is granted, and they continue to become friends, meaning, they really got no work done in class because they talked so much. Fast forward to fall of 2019, Evan and Sammi start going to the gym together. They start hanging out outside of the gym, and pretty soon, they become the best of friends. They go on road-trips, spend countless hours together, and even set each other up on dates. Sammi leaves for boot camp and tech school summer of 2020, Evan is always just a phone call away, her biggest supporter. She gets back and it’s time for Evan to leave on his mission. He leaves for 2 years to serve the Lord, returning in March of 2023. They see each other in the airport and things have changed. In a split second, God had made it clear to them that they are not only inseparable, but they are meant for each other. Fast forward to now, we are writing this “about me” page for our wedding website. Believe them when they say - you really do marry your best friend.
