Travel

Flight

Daniel K. Inouye International Airport HNL

Hawaii has many islands so please take care to book your flights to HNL, to the city of Honolulu on the island of Oahu! From there, it will typically take around 20-30 minutes to travel to Waikiki. The majority of the wedding and hotels are centered in Waikiki.

House Or Rental

Sam & Andrew's VRBO

574 Auwina St, Kailua, HI 96734

The bride and groom and their immediate family have reserved a VRBO in Kailua, where the welcoming and closing gatherings will take place. Kailua is about 30 minutes north of Waikiki and brimming with local personality. It is home to the famous white beach Lanikai, divine Island Snow shaved ice, and the Mt. Olomana Trail hike (Three Peaks). Whether you choose to stay in Waikiki or Kailua, there is no shortage of adventure and delicious options.

Hotel

AC Hotel Honolulu

1111 Bishop St, Honolulu, HI 96813, Honolulu, HI 96813

A Marriott hotel, AC Hotel Honolulu is about 2 blocks from Cafe Julia! A great option for those who want to walk home after the festivities are over.

Registry

One of many of our Friday date nights. This one is from Jack London Square, one of our favorite Oakland spots.
A trip to Monterey Bay at the Sardine Factory where we pretend to be grownups.
Turns out..Andrew makes a great walrus!
When the waiters aren't looking, you know we're goofing off!
Back to where we met in Seattle. Thanks to Sue (Andrew's mom) for taking this pic!
Our first trip together to Thailand in a tuktuk. This was the height of the woo-ing phase!
Here in Thailand, when we were given a challenge to eat a scorpion on a stick. Do you see how competitive we are?!
2016, our first year together. Though it was a tough year, we found each other and that made it better.

Things To Do

Don Quijote Honolulu

Don Quijote Honolulu

801 Kaheka Street, Honolulu, HI 96814

It's really no surprise that Sam likes to shop (to Andrew's chagrin). Don Quijote is a mega department store in Japan and their Honolulu location is equally a blast! Great place to find Asian and Hawaiian-based snacks and souvenirs!

Waikiki Beach

Waikiki Beach

Honolulu, HI 96815

There is no bad beach in Hawai'i! For our visitors, Waikīkī Beach is easily accessible by many hotels and there is often music and local events happening nearby. Andrew and Sam had a date night at Spam Jam here in 2025!

Diamond Head Crater Trailhead

Diamond Head Crater Trailhead

Kapahulu, Honolulu, HI 96815

One of the most famous hikes and rightfully so. The Diamond Head is a volcanic hike towering over the city of Waikiki. It is about 1.6 miles, includes 175 stairs, and takes about 1.5-2 hours. It requires a $5 reservation per person and a $10 parking fee.

Hanauma Bay

Hanauma Bay

Honolulu, HI 96825

This one is for the snorkel-lovers! The Hanauma Bay State Park is a family-friendly reef with beautiful wildlife and crystal clear waters. It does require a reservation (Adults $25, 12 and under are free), requires reef-safe sunscreen only, and can get crowded fairly quickly. Hanauma is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays because the fish need to rest too.

Iolani Palace

Iolani Palace

364 S King St, Honolulu, HI 96813

Conveniently next to our Cafe Julia reception venue, the Iolani Palace is the official residence of Hawai'i's monarchy. Built in 1882 by King Kalakaua, the Iolani Palace is the living restoration of a proud Hawaiian national identity. You can walk the opulent Throne Room, State Dining Room, and immerse yourself in the beautiful and tragic history of the Hawaiian monarchy.

FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by August 1st, 2026.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will be starting at 4:30pm. We recommend for guests to arrive by 4:15pm to allow for parking and to get settled in. Mahalo!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The weather in Hawai'i is typically in the 80's with a chance of humidity. We recommend something light, breathable, and comfortable such as linen and cotton. We love the beachy resort wear of Hawaiian shirts and sundresses.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to our small wedding count, we kindly ask for plus ones to come to the welcome and farewell events only. Our ceremony and reception are intimate to the couple's closest family and friends.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, we love kids! Please let us know ahead of time how many kiddos are in your party.

Question

Can I bring a gift?

Answer

We are so grateful to know such giving loved ones. For the convenience of our guests, we are asking for wedding gifts to be through our registry or to fit within an enveloped card. We are checking in many bags to get ready for the wedding ;)
