How We Met

First comes school, then comes a lifetime

In the fall of 2015, Patrick and Sam attended Daemen College as freshmen. Unbeknownst to them at the time, they shared two classes together; though it took weeks before they actually met. One day, Sam was running late to class and arrived to find that no one had saved her a seat. She settled into the second row, while Patrick sat near the classroom exit. During class, the professor asked each student to draw a number from a hat to determine their group for an upcoming project. At the end of the lecture, we were encouraged to find our group members and exchange contact information. As the class was dismissed, Sam walked toward Patrick, both of them focused on the classroom door; only to realize their group members had already left. Sharing a laugh at the awkward moment, Patrick and Sam exchanged numbers to coordinate their project. Soon after, they discovered they were also in the same art history class. Study sessions turned into a friendship, and that friendship eventually grew into a love story; one that led them to spend forever with one another.
