Saigon was the capital of South Vietnam before the Fall of Saigon (1975). Ho Chi Minh City is the official name of the city, but a lot of people still call the city Saigon.

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

SGN (Tan Son Nhat International Airport) is the closest to the city center. LTH (Long Thanh International Airport) is a newer airport opening in 2027. However, this airport is about 1.5 hours from city center. You can use Grab (Asia's version of Uber/Lyft) for SGN. A ride from the airport to city center should cost less than $5. You also can book airport transfer on Klook in advance for both airports.

There are numerous hotels walking distance to the wedding venues. We recommend staying in Districts 1, 2 or 3. District 1 is the city center. District 2 is an upscale residential area.
