It all started when two teenagers swapped numbers through a mutual friend without ever even laying eyes on one another. I (Sam), finally mustered up the courage to reach out to Erick, little did we know, that single phone call would become the foundation of an incredible connection. As we delved into conversation, time seemed to slip away effortlessly. We talked about our lives, our families, our friends, and even our aspirations. There was an instant connection, a sense of familiarity that transcended the mere fact that we had just met. When we finally said our goodbyes, it became evident that this was just the beginning of something extraordinary. Our hearts had unexpectedly intertwined through that one phone call, and we both knew that our destinies had been forever altered.
We decided to spend our 11th anniversary in Vancouver, Canada. We landed the night before our big day and quickly rested as we awaited the next morning. The morning of July 7th, 2022, began with the sweet melody of "Rock With You" by Michael Jackson as Erick woke me with a smile and a song. He had orchestrated a day filled with surprises. We ventured out to a local breakfast spot, the pitter-patter of raindrops adding a soothing rhythm to our conversation about the day ahead. As we finished our meal, a sleek, light brown 2003 5 series BMW arrived, revealing that a driver awaited to guide us through the city. Our journey led us to Stanley Park, where the scenic beauty of the place enticed us. Our driver suggested a hidden viewpoint leading to Third Beach, a spot where we had yearned to visit. The beach lay silent and untouched, the perfect setting for what would become an unforgettable moment. As we approached a crane, I (Sam) pulled out my camera to take a photo of the bird slowly walking through the shoreline. "Here I got you a gift." Erick said as I was crouched down filming, "I thought we said no gifts?" I (Sam) said as I turned to look at Erick holding a small jewelry bag. Confused by the unexpected gift, I opened it to find a gold-plated necklace with a heartfelt message. Overwhelmed, I looked up to see Erick on one knee, tears glistening in his eyes, and my world stood still. "Will You Marry Me <3" was delicately inscribed on the necklace, and in a moment of pure joy, I tearfully accepted, "OF COURSE!!! YES!!!". In a rush of emotions, I found myself engulfed in Erick's arms, the weight of the ring sinking in. It was the beginning of a new chapter, a moment we had always known was coming but had eagerly awaited nonetheless. As the ring found its place on my finger, we embraced the promise of spending eternity together, our hearts brimming with love and the excitement of what lay ahead.
We both grew up with childhood dogs, Raider and Stitch. 🤍 Their absence left a void in our hearts, and we longed to bring that joy and love back into our lives. After much consideration and anticipation, we made the decision to welcome a furry companion into our home. We found Draco through a recommendation and made a two hour drive to meet him. As we embarked on the journey with the new member of our family, our hearts were filled with both anticipation and a tinge of apprehension. We knew that bringing a dog into our lives meant taking on a great responsibility, but we were also eager to experience the unconditional love and companionship that only a four-legged friend could provide.
