Welcome

Exactly eight years ago to the day of our wedding, we had our first date. Since then, we’ve grown together—enduring one year of long distance, moving between states, exploring a few countries, somehow managing to complete three degrees between us, and accruing birds all the while! Now, we’re so excited to invite some of our loved ones to celebrate the next big step in our journey: getting married!

An intimate occasion

As many of you know, we embarked on a mission to simultaneously accomplish two of the most stressful (and expensive) endeavors for any couple - buying a house and planning a wedding. Due to our tight budget, our wedding will be small and intimate. If you are unable to make it to the wedding itself please let us know so that we can consider extending an invite to another loved one.

FAQs

If you have any questions that are not answered below, please reach out to Jack or Sabine.
Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

The wedding will be held at Moda Restaurant, which is located at The Barracks (61 Petrie Terrace, Brisbane).

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 1 PM. Please try and arrive at least 15 minutes before this. Please note there is limited seating for the ceremony, and as such seating is reserved for close family. Rest assured, the ceremony will be brief!

Question

How should I get there?

Answer

For those driving: undercover parking is available for all guests for a flat rate of $15 per vehicle (Google: Secure Parking - The Barracks, Petrie Terrace Brisbane City Car Park). For those considering public transport: The venue is located 600m from Roma Street train station.

Question

Is this an event for children?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to budget constraints and the nature of our wedding, this is an 18+ only event. This has been a difficult decision as we both come from large families.

Question

What should I wear / What is the dress code?

Answer

Our event is semi-formal. For men, think a nice suit or dress pants with a button-up shirt—no need for a tuxedo, but a tie or jacket is a good idea if you want to look sharp! For women, a cocktail dress, a nice skirt or pants with a fancy top, or a dressy jumpsuit would all be perfect. Basically, it's a chance to look elegant without going all-out formal. Just think ‘party ready,’ and you’ll be right on track! Please, no white dresses.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, while we would love to have more people, due to budget constraints we cannot accommodate any extra guests who are not specifically invited.

Question

Will there be a dancefloor?

Answer

Yes! As many of you know, a party is not Jack-approved unless there is a dancefloor. We will have a DJ on the night to keep the party going so pack comfortable shoes (dance in Jack's vicinity at your own risk). We have a spotify playlist open for any song suggestions leading up to the event.

Question

Are you changing your last names?

Answer

Nah. We've decided to keep our own last names, because why mess with perfection? We'll be celebrating this new chapter together, with all the same names we’ve always loved! (Besides, a name change would confuse the birds).

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

Nope! We have hired a professional photographer to capture our wedding, as such we ask that the ceremony be unplugged (ie: no phones!) so that our lovely photographer, Angela, can work her magic without obstruction. Photos of the ceremony will be shared by ourselves at a later date. You may take photos to your heart's content after the ceremony and throughout the reception.

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by 26 June 2026. If you can't make it, that's okay! We understand these are busy times and appreciate you letting us know early so that we can plan accordingly. We look forward to seeing you all at some point after the wedding!

Question

Is there a wedding registry?

Answer

No! Please do not bring gifts, we have everything we need. We know many will be travelling to attend, your presence is more than enough. If you would like to contribute in some way, we will have a wishing well available on the night and any donations to this will go towards our honeymoon (or Jack's next triathalon).

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes, there will be an open bar providing beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
