Please let us know your plans by September 1, 2024.
Please dress in cocktail attire. Those of you wearing heels, keep in mind that the ceremony and reception will be held outside on grass, so wedges or block heels are recommended. Think short or long dresses, fun separates, or a jumpsuit! Your choice: tie or no tie. Need color inspiration? We suggest pinks, reds, oranges, yellows, or greens. Let's leave white tones for the bride!
Welcome party: inside the Barrel Room of Great Wagon Road Distillery. Ceremony: outdoors on the front lawn of the Mint Museum Randolph under the large tree. Cocktail hour: inside the Mint Museum Randolph in the Heritage Gallery Reception: outdoors under a tent on the front lawn of the Mint Museum Randolph. In the event of heavy rain, the ceremony and reception may be moved inside the Mint Museum. Both venues have plenty of free parking available, however we recommend using ride-sharing apps. We will not be providing any shuttles. The Mint Museum has free overnight parking available as well.
Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate a plus one for each wedding guest. If we are able to reserve space for your guest, it will be clearly stated on your invitation and online RSVP.
This will be an adults-only affair.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted within the museum or grounds.
If you have a food allergy or other dietary restriction, please let us know at the time of your RSVP.
Yes! However, it will not be your traditional guestbook. As you arrive for the ceremony, you will see a large display and table with instant cameras and cards to write notes for the couple. We would love for every guest to get their photo taken (solo, or as a group!), so we can display all the photos in a frame for the years to come!
We understand that some guests prefer to give a tangible gift rather than contribute to one of the funds listed on our registry. Coordinate delivery with the bride before the wedding.
We do not have a hotel block; however, Charlotte has plenty of hotel and Airbnb options. We recommend staying in Uptown, South End, Midtown, Plaza Midwood, Elizabeth, or NoDa. Feel free to reach out to the bride and groom for specific area suggestions!
On October 18, 1959, Cordelia’s grandmother, Beverly Morrell, married Frank Larson in Santa Barbara, California, in a wedding dress that she loved. Twenty-nine years later, on January 9, 1988, Cordelia’s mom, Linda Larson wore her mother's dress when she married Marc Hogan in Greensboro, North Carolina. Then, in 2018, Miranda Hogan, Cordelia’s oldest sister, tried on the wedding dress to see if she could wear it for her wedding the following year. When she realized the dress wouldn’t work for her, Linda and Miranda used some of the fabric and lace to make flowers for the bouquets and boutonnieres. In 2022, when the second Hogan daughter, Anna Grey Hogan, got married, she continued the tradition of using the fabric from the wedding dress. She wrapped some of the lace around her bouquet and her husband's boutonniere. Now, in 2024, Cordelia couldn’t imagine getting married without keeping the dress’s tradition alive. Her idea was to salvage the remaining satin to make a whole new dress to dance the night away at her wedding reception. She and Linda browsed Pinterest, Etsy, and Mood.com for a minidress pattern. They spent Easter weekend, designing, trying on, tweaking, and sewing a dress that was just perfect! With this beautiful party dress made out of such sentimental material, Cordelia is ready to hit the dance floor at her wedding. She’ll bring along a tangible wedding day memory of four of the most important women in her life. While her grandmother is no longer with us, Cordelia knows she would have been delighted that her dress is making yet another appearance, in yet another form, exactly sixty-five years after she first wore it. Cordelia plans to wear the dress every year on her and Ryan’s anniversary as a reminder of the history and strength of the marriages of the women in her family. And, of course, she’ll keep wearing it because it is such an adorable dress!! Check out some photos of the dress and its reimaginings in the gallery below!
