We met at a Christian conference in late December 2023 in Florida, themed “World Changers”. It was for Christian international students in the United States to come together, fellowship, and learn what it means to represent Christ in our fields. Both of us had situations that would have kept us from attending the conference, but we made it!   We both happened to be in the same small group - Family and Education (if only we knew!). It was a time of great fellowship during the conference, which crossed into the new year. We had fun working together as group members, discussing leadership in our organizations where we served as student leaders.   The Love Story: Her Perspective   After the conference, Tochukwu stayed in touch. After a few months, I asked him what he wanted from me. He confessed that he liked me but wasn't asking me out yet because he wanted to be sure God was giving him the green light. A couple of weeks later, he asked me out officially, and I made him wait, even though I knew my answer.   On May 12, 2024, a day after his Master's graduation, I let him know I wanted to walk with him on this Love journey to forever - loving God and each other, serving God and His people for His good pleasure.   The Love Story: His Perspective Admittedly, from the beginning, I was in love with Ruth. I also believe she liked me a lot, but prefers the comfort of denying it. We had hours of daily conversations… don’t underestimate what love can do! Those times, we happily shared our past experiences and testimonies, recognizing the points where we were similar and the values we shared. In the same vein, I was prayerfully trusting God’s guidance as I considered her for a lasting relationship in marriage, because she’s an awesome lady! When I got conviction in my spirit as well as assent from mentors to pursue the relationship to the next level, I asked her out. She sent me a video of her “YES” written on beach sand. Yes, jovial and exceptionally creative nature never runs out of ideas! I am grateful for how our love has grown so far, from initial attractions to a life-long commitment with Christ at the center. We are celebrating this love in marriage and would love for you to celebrate with us!
