From Pastry to Forever: The journey of Darmini and Ruban

A Love Story Worth Celebrating

Once upon a December evening in 2022, fate wove its magical thread, bringing together Darmini and Ruban at Balha's pastry shop in Brunswick. As the clock struck 5:30pm, amidst the aroma of freshly baked pastries and the warmth of a setting sun, their eyes met and their hearts felt an inexplicable connection. Darmini, on holiday in Melbourne from Malaysia, was about to return home in just a few hours. Ruban, known for his long workdays, had managed to finish early on this busy Christmas sales period to meet her. With a slice of pastry and a cup of coffee each, they found themselves seated upstairs, engrossed in conversations that flowed effortlessly. The topics ranged from their shared values of family to their dreams and aspirations. Darmini, although eating very little and sipping very slowing on her coffee, enjoyed Ruban's company. Ruban couldn't resist being captivated by Darmini's charm and warmth. As they bid farewell that day, they knew in their hearts that this was only the beginning of a beautiful journey. From that moment on, their hearts danced in sync across borders through constant communication via Messenger, WhatsApp, audio calls, and video chats. The distance couldn't keep them apart as their love blossomed with each passing day. Fast forward to early April 2023, when Darmini returned to Melbourne with some close family members. This time, they got to explore the city together, visiting places like the Dandenong Mountains, Levantine Hill Winery, Chadstone shopping centre and experiencing the thrill of a hot air balloon ride across Melbourne. A significant milestone was reached on the 10th of April 2023, when Darmini and Ruban got engaged in Melbourne, exchanging rings as a symbol of their commitment to each other. The journey continued as Ruban ventured to Malaysia in late June 2023. Darmini proudly introduced Ruban to her extended family, uncles, aunties, and even her beloved Grandma. Together, they attended a family wedding, exploring Kuala Lumpur's iconic landmarks, tasting the flavours of the city and immersing themselves in its vibrant culture. On August 21st, 2023, the day of their legal marriage at Medina Road, Glen Waverley, their love story reached a momentous culmination. Close family gathered to witness their union, cheering on the couple as they embark on this new chapter. But that wasn't the end, for there is more big celebration to come. On January 22nd, 2024, in the heart of Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, a ceremonial wedding will take place, followed by a grand reception at the luxurious Sofitel KL on January 23rd, 2024.
