Sam came to visit Durango, Colorado and Fort Lewis College in the spring of 2016 with his friend Tonio. Our mutual friend Megan was Sam's host that weekend. Megan knocked on Nicole's dorm room, and when Nicole opened the door Sam, Megan and Tonio were on rollerblades in the hallway. That evening we spent the rest of the night getting to know each other. The following fall semester Sam transferred to Fort Lewis and the rest is history!
Sam proposed while on a trip to Silverton, Colorado to visit friends. We spent that Saturday enjoying the mountains of the San Juans separately, Nicole on a mountain bike with Sarah and Sam on a dirt bike with Jackson. Sunday we decided to go on a mountain bike ride together, on a trail that was way above Nicole's ability. Nicole was walking her bike most of the way and Sam was lucky she was in a good mood. A photo opportunity presented itself and Sarah snapped a couple of pictures while Nicole was oblivious of what was to come. Sam proposed, pulling the ring out of his bike pack, and we celebrated with a mini bottle of champagne Jackson had brought along for the occasion!
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Casual attire!
Stop by to say hi before Saturday’s events! We are going to have some food and play yard games for a couple of hours. The park is right by the river and has sand volleyball and pickleball courts and plenty of parking. Exact location TBD. Bring swimsuits if you want to get in the river!
4:00 pm - 4:30 pm
You can RSVP shuttle services through the RSVP link. It will prompt you through the choices. We are only going to have one pick up location for shuttle services to and from the venue. Please be at the Marriott Residence Inn by 4pm for pick up!! This will be the only pick up time. For those with other lodging arrangements, there is parking across the street or a free bus stop at the hotel.
5:00 pm - 10:45 pm
We are leaning into Steamboat's western heritage! Semi-formal and if you already have a pair of cowboy boots and bolo ties, please wear them :)
Flight
For those flying- we recommend flying into Hayden (HDN) Yampa Valley Regional Airport if possible. Most flights will have a connection in Denver. If you choose to fly into Denver, the drive is an easy 3 hours from Steamboat.
Travel Note
If you are flying in we recommend renting a car or taking advantage of the shuttle services in town. While Steamboat has Uber/Lyft, it is not a reliable means of getting around. If you are not renting a car, please look into your accommodations for shuttle service or staying along the Steamboat Springs Free Bus Route- https://www.steamboatsprings.net/166/Transit. We will have shuttles from the Marriott Residence Inn to take guests to and from the ceremony/reception!
Please enter the first and last name of one member of your party below.

The rodeo starts at 7:30pm; we would love to see you there but it is not required. If you would like to come, we will be in the uncovered general admission section.
Saturday morning, stroll down to the farmer's market and grab a coffee and pastry while you check out all the vendors.
Rent a tube at Backdoor Sports or Bucking Rainbow and enjoy a float down the river
A Steamboat classic and an easy hike, either to the overlook or down to the falls themselves. If you’re feeling a long hike, and the bridge is open, you can hike to the upper falls. If not, the uranium mine trail is great too! Bring $5 or your America the Beautiful Pass, this Forest Service site has a fee.
Emerald Mountain has a multitude of trails for hiking and biking! Blackmere trail is an out and back hike to a beautiful overlook of the valley and ski area. Morning Gloria, Lupine and NPR are classic biking trails. Reach out to either one of us if you want recommendations on where to ride or where to rent a bike.
Head north to beautiful Clark, CO to check out this state park. Rent a paddle board or just walk the trails. On your way back stop at the Clark Store for sandwiches and ice cream.
Steamboat has plenty of vacation rentals and hotels but please book your accommodations as early as possible! We don’t have a hotel block but many of our family members have booked the Residence Inn. Nordic Lodge downtown Bristol Hotel downtown Rabbit Ears Motel downtown Marriott Residence Inn is a great central location
Sam and Nicole will be keeping their full names :)
We will have a shuttle service to provide transportation. Please be at the Marriott Residence Inn at 4pm for pick up. There will not be another pick up so please be on time. If you plan on driving yourself please let one of us know ahead of time!
Semi-formal! We would love to see you dress up but it's Colorado, we get it. We are leaning into Steamboat's western heritage, so if you have cowboy boots and bolo ties, please wear them! Think a suit (not necessarily black) with a dress shirt, optional tie (bolo preferred), or a dressy shirt with dress pants. Or cocktail dresses, nice skirts with blouses, dressy jumpsuits, or tailored pantsuits with a dressier top. Sensible shoes please! The bride and groom are wearing boots :) We are going to be hanging out in the barn with horses, lambs and goats nearby.
Please check your invite for your +1! If your RSVP does not include a guest, we have only accounted for you.
Please check your RSVP. We have accounted for guests with kiddos!
Yes! We would love for you to take photos and please share them with us!! However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. There will a professional photographer there to capture our special day!
