June 25th, 2022. This is where our story begins! Robbie and I met the old-fashioned way—Facebook Dating. Yes, that's right! While others were swiping right, we were clicking "like" on each other’s profile pictures. Robbie, a hardworking single dad of two adorable daughters, was doing his best to juggle life, while I, Gracie, was a full-time employee and spent many nights line dancing with my closest friends— most of who are standing beside me today at our wedding. After a few phone calls, the moment finally came when I took the reins and asked Robbie on a date. We ended up at Hickory Tavern, where Robbie says, “The moment she ordered extra mayonnaise for her sub, that’s when I knew she was the one.” I mean, who could resist such gourmet sophistication? That night ended with us dancing in the parking lot of a little old church, and I half-expected someone to come out yelling, “Hey, stop that! Your music is too loud!” But it was magical, and I truly felt like we were the only two people on earth. Believe it or not, Robbie was a very reserved man who was weary of love. I jumped in head first. I spent a month and a half telling him "I love you even if you just like me". After endless teasing, he finally handed me a paper napkin rose—his masterpiece—with "I love you" written on it in red sharpie. Finally, progress! Through this wild journey, Robbie taught me patience and understanding, while I showed him how to truly embrace love—complete with ups and downs, and a few awkward dance moves. Our foundation has always been built on friendship, trust and communication. Just don’t ask us to go pick out paint colors. Fast forward a couple of months, and I finally had the honor of meeting the next two greatest loves of my life: Kennedy and Kimber. Now, those girls know how to steal your heart! We added in some more fun by adopting our fur babies Rosie and Aster. I never pictured us a miniature dachshund family but here we are. Many more months flew by, filled with laughter, memories, and an unexpected number of teary-eyed moments. But through it all, our love blossomed, like a weed in a garden—relentlessly and with a little chaos. Then came an exhausting Tuesday evening when Robbie decided to ask me on another date. Little did I know we would find ourselves back at that charming little church where it all began. This time, though, Robbie got down on one knee and popped THE question. We both had tears in our eyes as we finally understood what all the past hurt we had been through was for! God certainly knows what He’s doing, and we thank Him daily for bringing us together. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have all of you here to share in our beautiful story. Cheers to love, laughter, and forever after!
