Ricky and Nicole met a little over ten years ago at the Central Church of Christ in Bakersfield, California, but had to wait on God’s timing to be together. They lost touch, but reconnected in early 2023 and began dating. In the summer of that year, Ricky was offered a great job at a gold mine in Ely, Nevada. He went there and rented a house, then returned to Bakersfield to get Nicole and her three youngest children, Nataliah, Gabriel, and Lidiah, just before the school year started. Nicole’s oldest children remained in Bakersfield; Hannah was living on her own and Cameron stayed with his father. Ricky’s children, Serenity and Ricky, also remained in California, as both were attending school in San Luis Obispo. Ricky and Nicole are hopeful that their older children will eventually join them in Ely, as many of Ricky’s family members have. His mother, grandmother, father, sister Angie and her family, and other extended family members live close to Ricky and Nicole, and they all get together regularly. Nicole’s mother has visited them in Ely and, in November of 2023, Nicole’s father and stepmother visited. On their first evening together, Ricky asked for Nicole’s hand in marriage. The blessing was given, and the wedding planning began. Ricky and Nicole wanted to get married on the coast of California, for its peaceful beauty, and the proximity to family, friends, and their beloved pastor from the Remnant Ministries, who will officiate their marriage ceremony. Since Nicole’s father and stepmother live in Cambria and offered to help with the wedding planning, along with Ricky’s sister Tina, Cambria became the logical place to get married. They look forward to seeing you and sharing their very special and long-awaited wedding day with you!!!
12:30 pm - 1:00 pm
The ceremony will be on grass overlooking the ocean, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear and bring something to cover up in case there is a breeze. For more information about attire, please see the FAQ section of this website. Parking is limited, so carpooling is recommended.
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
There will be wine, beer, and cocktails along with light appetizers, followed by an Italian meal catered by an excellent restaurant in San Luis Obispo. There will be a DJ and a dance floor at the reception, and the bride and groom hope that everyone will join them in dancing and celebrating. 😊

The reception will end shortly before 5:00pm, and guests are invited to join the wedding party at the Cambria Pines Lodge (2905 Burton Drive in Cambria) starting at 6:00pm. Take Highway One north through Cambria and turn left at Windsor Boulevard, then make your first quick right onto Moonstone Beach Drive. Take Moonstone Beach Drive north along the Pacific Ocean approximately one mile until you see the Leffingwell Landing sign, then turn left into the parking lot.
There is a parking lot for the State Park, but it is not large and so it is highly recommended that you carpool, if possible. There is also parking on Moonstone Beach Drive adjacent to the entrance to the park.
October generally offers beautiful weather in Cambria, but the wedding is on grass overlooking the ocean, so be prepared for soft grass underfoot and ocean breezes. The wedding party will be in black gowns and tuxedos, so the bride and groom encourage everyone to dress with that in mind.
Leffingwell Landing is a State Park and the rules are very specific; there can be no chairs set out for the ceremony. There are scattered picnic tables where people can sit if so desired, but the ceremony should be brief enough that most can stand for the duration of it.
Take Moonstone Beach Drive back to Windsor Boulevard and go left across Highway One. Turn right on Main Street and drive approximately one mile to the Joslyn Recreation Center (on the right side of the street, adjacent to the large lawn bowling green).
There is limited parking in front of the Joslyn Center and lawn bowling green, and more parking on Main Street. Again, carpooling might be a good idea.

Nicole and Ricky feel blessed to have everything they need. Therefore, in lieu of creating a gift registry, they are suggesting monetary gifts to help pay for their honeymoon in Pismo Beach, California. Checks can be made out to Richard Alonzo. For those unable to attend who would like to mail a gift, the couple's address is 640 Mill Street, Ely, Nevada 89301.
