Two Fewer Fish In The Sea <3
On May 15, 2015, at Big Sky Bar in Buckhead, fate brought us together. Ridah caught me looking at her and boldly asked, “What are you looking at?” I simply replied, “You.” That moment, what began with a curious smile turned into a journey neither of us could have imagined. Our first date at Café Intermezzo turned a 90 minute meeting into a three-hour conversation that felt like a lifetime of connection. Even as I prepared to move to San Francisco, we couldn’t ignore what we had. Ridah visited me on the West Coast, and when the pandemic came, it brought us closer than ever. On March 13, 2020, I caught one of the last flights out of California to be with her in Atlanta. That decision changed everything. We quarantined together, took a life-changing cross-country road trip, and on June 4, 2020, at Lovers Point Beach, I asked her to be my girlfriend. Since then, we’ve shared the best of life—adventures around the world, unforgettable meals, sunsets, and countless moments of growth and love. On the 21st night of September 2024, I asked Ridah to spend forever with me. She said yes. What began with a glance across a crowded bar has grown into a bond rooted in strength, trust, and a love that makes us better together than we could ever be apart. This isn’t just a love story—it’s the start of a legacy.

Lammie has been my best friend since our freshman year of college, though we didn’t realize it until after graduation. I hated her when I met her. Anyway, we call each other "Linda" for reasons I can’t quite explain—it just fits. Linda is as genuine as they come, with the most caring heart and soul. Over the years, she’s been everything: a moral compass, confidant, cheerleader, and even a second mother. We lived in the same dorm for two years and worked three jobs together. During my awkward lease transitions when I was between apartments, I’ve always found a home at hers. She has opened her home to me as if I’m her sister. Her unwavering support has meant more to me than I could ever express, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have her in my life. "Heaven sent" doesn’t even begin to capture it—she’s truly an angel in my life.

Rob and I met in college, and from the very beginning, we were more than just friends—we were like brothers. We spent nearly every waking moment together, from working long shifts at AT&T to hitting the gym, going out, and just enjoying life. He’s been there through some of my highest highs and lowest lows- always showing up with loyalty, humor, and wisdom. Rob is the kind of person who has your back no matter what, and I’ve always known I could count on him, no questions asked. Over the years, our bond has only grown stronger. He is someone who understands me like no one else—whether it’s the serious moments or the ridiculous ones—and has stood by me through every chapter of my life. Rob isn’t just my best friend; he’s family, my brother in every way that matters. Having him stand by my side on this day means more to me than I could ever put into words.

My friendship with Kenzie feels like it's been a lifetime, even though it’s only been 11 years. She’s the definition of dedication with her daily gym grind, and the voice of reason who makes sure we never leave a bar without at least two tequila shots. Whenever we’re together, we can count on having a great time. We even intentionally took two consecutive fall classes in college just so we could pass by cheating off each other. She’s one of the most loyal friends I could ask for, and I honestly can’t imagine where I’d be without her laughter. This girl has one of the biggest hearts, so the shift from being inseparable to long-distance friends was tough. But almost two years later, our bond is as strong and special as ever. I wouldn’t trade her for anything, and I can’t ask for more—except that she really needs to move back to the A already. Enough is enough.

Rip and I have always been brothers, but when we moved to the U.S., we truly became friends. Those early years weren’t easy—we didn’t know anyone and had no one else to rely on but each other. Together, we navigated new challenges, new opportunities, and new beginnings, growing closer with every step. We’ve seen each other at our best and worst, shared in life’s joys and heartbreaks, and even built a business together. Our relationship has been tested in ways that strengthened not only our bond but also my understanding of what it truly means to be family. Rip’s unwavering support and love have been a cornerstone of my life, and having him here on this day means more than words can express.

Div knows me better than I know myself and has this remarkable ability to light up any room she walks into. She leaves a little sparkle everywhere she goes. From day one, she’s always had my best interests at heart and been the voice of sanity behind some of my best life decisions. We even got matching work clothes when we worked together at my previous job. Her boundless optimism is a constant source of inspiration, and she’s always encouraged me to chase what’s best for me with such enthusiasm. Div is the definition of an all-star friend—whether it’s late-night phone calls or weekend lunches, I know she always has my back. I love her so much! And her family? They have the most tender hearts, and I look up to them deeply. Hopefully, one day Richard and I will create the same kind of love her parents have instilled in their girls.

Erin and I met through a mutual friend, and it was like we’d known each other for years. His level-headedness and maturity, combined with his ability to keep things light and fun, made him someone I instantly connected with. Erin was there the night I met my fiancée—a night that changed my life forever—and his presence ever since has been a steady reminder of how friendships shape the people we become. Despite living in different states, we’ve always stayed close, finding ways to catch up and support each other. Erin is the kind of friend who shows up when it matters most, and I’m grateful to have him here to celebrate this new chapter of my life.

Anyone lucky enough to know Syd knows she is truly one of the sweetest souls you’ll ever meet. She’s the kind of friend who shows up with flowers, no matter the occasion, and I feel so blessed to have her in my life. Syd was the first person I saw when I woke up from one of the biggest surgeries I’ve ever had, and she’s always been there to make sure I’m okay. As adults, she’s the one who feels like home every time we talk, and that’s something I’ll always cherish. She even goes to Pakistani grocery stores to find me treats, which is a rare and thoughtful gesture I deeply appreciate. I honestly can’t imagine my life without Syd—her advice has guided me in ways she may not even realize, and I’m so grateful for that. I truly hit a jackpot with Syd. Many of my secrets are safely kept with her, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Renaud and I first met in San Francisco when I found him as a roommate through email. Little did I know that this random connection would lead to one of the most meaningful friendships of my life. From those early days of shared apartments to traveling together, Renaud introduced me to the richness of French culture and cuisine—so much so that it may have inspired me to propose to my fiancée in Paris! Although we now live in different countries and rarely get to talk due to opposite time zones, our bond has never wavered. Renaud is the kind of friend who leaves a lasting impact, and having him here to celebrate with me is a true honor.
