We met on a Thomas University Upward Bound field trip as teenagers. Even though we were both attracted to each other, we didn't date then. We later crossed paths as young adults and the spark still did not ignite. As life progressed and we both took different paths not knowing that our paths would cross again later. We spoke over the phone after over 15 years of not communicating and developed a friendship. The conversations got longer and longer and we could no longer ignore the connection and the chemistry that we had. So, we begin to date and make things official. In October 2023, Carlton told me to meet him at Ponce City Market in Atlanta for dinner on the rooftop. But, to my surprise, Carlton had prepared the most beautiful and special proposal with close family and friends. I was speechless and overflowing with emotions. I said yes! There was no question. The rest is history and we are living our Happily Ever After!
