Flight
CIU airport is about a 35 minute drive to the St. Ignace ferry terminal. There is a shuttle service to the ferry. This airport often has better pricing and flight options than Pellston.
Flight
Pellston Regional Airport (PLN) is about 15 minutes from the Mackinaw City Shepler's ferry.
Travel Note
There are two main ferry operators: Shepler's and Arnold's. We recommend Shepler's, and we have purchased Shepler's tickets for all of our guests. The ferry to Mackinac Island is a walk on ferry and is a quick 15 min ride from either St. Ignace or Mackinaw City. We recommend Shepler's Ferry service and we are providing "enhanced tickets" for our guests which gives early boarding. When you go to the ticket counter just ask for a ticket under Turk Sorensen wedding and then go the enhanced boarding line (which is short). If you are staying on the island, your luggage is checked a bit further down the dock. The ticketing staff can give more details. If going to Mission Point, your luggage will be checked all the way through and will arrive at Mission Point.
Hotel
Mission Point Resort is where our reception will be held. We have a block of rooms held here under "Turk Sorensen Wedding." Please make sure to mention our wedding to receive the room block discount. You can book a room using the booking link, or call the resort directly. There are two main buildings: the Main Lodge is where the reception will be held. The Straits Lodge is a short 5-minute walk away. If you have trouble booking a room at Mission Point, please let us know.

Mackinac is pronounced "Mackinaw." When French explorers and fur traders arrived in the 17th and 18th centuries, they wrote the name as Mackinac using French phonetic rules where a final "-ac" is pronounced with an "-aw" sound.
