Our paths crossed when Rachel was working through grad school at a local coffee shop in Chapel Hill that Martin would regularly frequent on his way to work. Our friendship began during the pandemic when dating meant walking along the Eno River or Bolin Creek, outdoor picnics and grilling on Rachel's back deck. We now live together in Durham, NC, with our three cats and dog, Steve. We are so excited to take this step together and can't wait to celebrate with you! We believe that the best weddings are honest reflections of the couple, and it is in that spirit that our wedding event will be a lively and loose celebration at the Haw River Ballroom featuring music, food, drink, and community. The photo featured on the website was taken moments after Rachel said yes! We took a trip up to Asheville to celebrate the summer solstice. We went down to Flat Laurel Creek in Madison County, to a swimming spot that Rachel would frequent as a young person, where she took Martin early in our relationship. It was a perfect day, with no one else in sight, and we got engaged!
