Jeff proposed in the middle of Stockholm, Sweden's narrowest street, Mårten Trotzigs Gränd, while we were there together on vacation. Stockholm is near and dear to both of our hearts. Rachel studied at the Stockholm School of Economics and both of us have family roots that reach back to the country. Rachel had told Jeff that if he ever proposed, it needed to be as private as possible. A jumbo-tron was absolutely OUT of the question. Jeff honored this request by proposing in an extremely narrow street without a single other soul in view. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in October!
We are excited to see you at our reception at the Lake Theater and Cafe in Lake Oswego on October 28th at any time between 2 - 4 p.m. We will spend the afternoon in one of the theater rooms where we will be showing photos and videos from our wedding ceremony at the Villa del Balbianello in Italy. If weather permits, we will expand the party to the Cafe's outdoor deck which sits on the lake, where you have the option to socialize in the sun!
We will be eloping at the Villa Del Balbianello in a private ceremony on Lake Como in Tremezzina, Italy! Some (especially all you Star Wars and James Bond fans) may know this Villa as the "Lake Retreat" on Naboo where Anakin and Padme are married in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. It can also be seen in the movie Casino Royale, where it functions as a remote hospital. Photos and video of the event will be shown on the big screen at the Lake Theater.
You can find free parking in a handful of nearby lots. The covered garage at Lake View Village Shopping Center (355 1st St) is free to the public, provides ample parking, and is a 3-minute walk to the theater. Another public lot is at the corner of Foothills Road and Highway 43. It’s a minute closer but has fewer spaces available. Finally, limited parking is available in the two-level garage next door at Lakeside Plaza (8 N State St) all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
