Prior to the start of medical school, a few of us on VCOM facebook page were going to meet at Target prior to heading to Skyzone. I rode in one car and Aryan met at Target in the other. When we all met at Target, we discussed plan of getting there, etc. I had never met Aryan before but the whole day he kept asking me questions. I was short with him and was a jerk. I didn't understand why he wanted to know my life story. Later after we were dating he told me from the moment he laid eyes on me in the Target parking lot, he knew something special was going to develop and had to get to know me. Everyone says Aryan can sell ice to an eskimo. I should have been freaked out by him, but instead I was enchanted.
Throughout the wedding, you'll see both cultures. During the ceremony, we will use the American tradition of vows with the Persian tradition of Sofreh (look it up, it's pretty cool). We will have a "cookie table", which is a common Pittsburgh tradition with all the favorite cookies plus Iranian pastries and cookies. We will use the venue's catering service but also be catering Iranian food. There's no doubting that Aryan and I grew up with 2 different cultures and for the rest of our life, we will be blending them, so please join us as we become husband and wife with a blended Wedding.
