One fine day, Toby was laboring away in one of NYC's chicest co-working spaces when in walked a young handsome ER doctor named Mike for an interview to explore working with a new health-tech startup building an on-demand urgent care service called Pager. When greeted by Toby, Mike assumed this eager 20-something was the assistant there to offer him coffee, and was fairly surprised when Toby sat down to conduct the interview himself. Things were off to a great start. After a great conversation in which Toby held back on asking really important questions to suss out Mike's relationship status and the importance of his friends / family and other key values, both Mike and Toby immediately searched for each other on Facebook to get the scoop. They knew very few people in common, and Toby immediately judged Mike's shirtless profile pic. Fast forward past a few months of working professionally together, Toby organized a dinner for the doctors working on Pager. Drinks were had, and with the lifting of professional inhibitions, the sparks flew. Thankfully, Pager had no HR department at the time. Since that fateful night, Mike and Toby have built a happy life together that embraces and celebrates their very different personalities. Most importantly, they also are happy dads to Rocco.
