After many years of friendship and an extra ticket to an Orioles game, Ross stepped up to the plate and invited Melynn to the Maryland Script Jersey giveaway. This was the start of a new relationship built on Boh's, Boog's BBQ and baseball.

With a new adventure and a long drive, Ross and Melynn expanded their love and undying support for the Oriole's to Boston, MA. While the Oriole's didn't win, Ross and Melynn continued to grow in their understanding, compassion and trust in each other. The whole experience taught them the different types of people: those who like to drive and those who sleep in cars, those who don't mind the Massachusetts chill and those who bundle up quickly and those who don't mind the Massachusetts rain and those who run for the nearest Target. Most importantly they learned the importance of having each others back and supporting each other in all endeavors.

After a long week at church camp, Melynn and Ross returned to Camden Yards accompanied by Brian and Hillary. Running late, due to traffic, the national anthem was finishing as the four reached the stadium. Ross and Brian realized they both still had their pocket knives and ran back to the car. Upset with the guys, Melynn and Hillary ( aware of the plan) proceeded into the stadium. While waiting for Ross and Brian to return, Melynn and Hillary were showered with a Baltimore rainstorm. Brian returned soon after causing Melynn to look around for Ross with much confusion. Upon Ross' arrival, Melynn's confusion grew as now he was in a suit, bowtie and talking about our love for one another. As the proposal continued Melynn's reaction began to change from confusion and frustration to excitement and surprise. Ross, with his handcrafted ring and baseball ring box, got down on one knee and asked for her hand. With sheer adrenaline, Melynn said yes and pulled him up off the ground! Due to the rain delay, an audience provided congratulations as well as cover for her parents to hide and participate in the proposal. To top it off the Oriole's won, set a new record, had the same Maryland Script jersey giveaway and played the same team that the couple would have seen on their second anniversary trip had there been warmer weather in Cleveland.
