We met in physics class, but didn’t know we had chemistry until years later! Our story set into motion junior year of high school (2005), when we were seated next to each other in class, but didn't talk very much. Nearly 9 years passed before forces pulled us back together and we reconnected in 2014 (thanks Facebook). The first time we saw each other again, we met up with some friends at a local dancehall for a night of two steppin’. Sparks flew immediately and we've been building momentum ever since!

In the fall of 2016, we made the big decision to purchase a home together. After living in different cities for nearly a year, JJ got a new job making it possible for him move from Dallas back to San Antonio. We were thrilled to be in the same city again! We avidly house hunted for 3 months until we found our perfect first home. It was a very exciting time, but also quite overwhelming- which is why I had absolutely no idea that JJ had been planning to propose! So after we officially closed, we headed to our new home. JJ had told me our friends, Ronnie (our realtor) and Heidi (his fiancee/a photographer) had set up for us to have professional photos taken at the house as a thank you. I loved the idea and thought it’d be great to capture such a special moment in our lives. Little did I know how special the moment would really be! We arrived to the house and went out to the front yard for photos. After a few photos, Ronnie suggested JJ pose down on one knee. I, still completely distracted by the fact we had just bought the house, didn’t think anything of it. JJ knelt down and I thought it would make for a cute photo if I sat on his knee- so I did! Heidi played along taking a few photos then suggested a different spot. As we got up JJ pointed to a spot by the driveway and said “over there.” I turned to look and when I turned back, I saw JJ on one knee again, holding navy blue box with a sparkly ring inside. I have never been so surprised in my life!! Stunned, I gasped and placed my hands over my mouth then started to tear up as I realized what was happening. With a smile, JJ then asked me to marry him. He put his hand out and I walked towards him continuing to cry then sat on his knee again (I needed to sit down after a big surprise like that haha) and I said YES! It was such an unexpected and beautiful moment! I couldn't imagine that day getting any better, but it did! We feel blessed to have found each other and can’t wait to start this new season of life together!

It so happens that we are getting married on the same day as the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!
