Rhett and Kristen’s older sisters visited Kristen over a long weekend in September. After Allison suggested a beach trip, the sunny California sun got the girls talking about Kianna’s family. She mentioned that she had a younger brother who could do Kristen’s senior photos if she came out to visit. Rhett and Kristen saw a picture of each other on Instagram a few minutes later and instantly fell in love! Rhett sent Kristen flowers the next day and they FaceTimed that night. Within a few days, they knew they would be getting married...

A trip to Keystone, Colorado for Thanksgiving with both of their families seemed natural with the promise of a summer wedding. Kristen suggested doing couple pictures while the rest of the family got ready the day after Thanksgiving. Rhett had been planning to propose that day, but it couldn’t have been a better set-up. Their younger brothers, Josh and Nikolas took them out to shoot a few photos before Rhett “spotted a bear” and pointed it out to Kristen. While she was searching for the bear, Rhett was getting down on one knee. She turned back around to tell him she couldn’t find the bear, she jumped back in surprise while Rhett popped the question. She said yes and the rest is history!
