where it all began

Casey and I met at our first job post college in Dallas. With the help of my dog I built up the courage to ask Casey to go to the dog park so that I could "meet Casey's dog..." She said no. After some time had passed, Casey reconsidered and invited me out for a drink one Saturday night. The rest is a story of dirty dogs, lots of laughs, and growing love. We spent weekends camping in Ardmore, cruising around the dance floors in Deep Ellum, and putting in countless hours at White Rock Lake Dog Park. After the fun year in Dallas we moved to Denver to continue our story. From concerts at the legendary Red Rocks venue, to skiing and camping in the Rockies, to owning a home in Denver: we are officially Coloradans!

What seemed like a normal ski trip with a group of best friends turned into the most magical weekend. We decided to plan a ski trip with our closest friends, and we chose a magnificant house in between Vail and Beaver Creek to host our weekend. With all of our best friends in one place, I knew in my gut that this was the perfect place to ask Casey to spend the rest of her life with me. While Casey was none the wiser, I had contacted both of the families to inform them of my plan and to coordinate a suprise for Casey. While Casey was out picking up food for the house, our friends helped me transform the place with decorations as both families snuck into the house. We waited for Casey to come home and as she walked into the house, I stopped her outside and asked her to marry me. She was in total shock. To make the suprise even better, both our familes were wating for her when she walked into the docorated home. We spent the rest of the evening laughing, celebrating, and popping champagne bottles.
