IT’S HAPPENING!

From the bride: I met Zach back home in Missouri when I was twelve years old. He was about fifteen and hanging around my cousin’s house. I always knew him as way too smart and funny for his own good. We took years of high school band together (always grateful I wasn’t in the French Horn section with him—he ran a really tight ship!) He graduated, and then I didn’t hear much from him until my last semester of college. He came to see me play the lead in the musical that year *on a DATE!* He must have enjoyed it because he recommended the show to his friends on the internet. I was flattered. Post graduation, I found myself without anyone to go to see a local band with. I knew Zach was around and that he would appreciate it. So, I went for it and he said yes! We watched the 8 o’clock show and stayed out talking until SO late. Nonstop. No awkward lulls. (In retrospect this isn’t so surprising.) I told Zach that night that in one year I had plans to leave for New York City. I let him know that whoever was around was welcome to come with me but that‘s where I was headed. He said he was looking to get out of town too and that we could just wait and see what happens. On an uncertain date in May it will have been 9 years since that night at the casino in Cape Girardeau, and 7.5 years since we left for New York City together. I’m so glad we did. -Hannah
