Jessica and Francisco first met in their Intro to Biology course at UTSA. Francisco, wanting to meet the cutest girl in class, sat down next to her. They immediately bonded over their nerdy senses of humor and shared biology notes. Over the next 3 years their friendship grew and consisted of a lot of Monday night happy hours, Chela’s Tacos, and exploring San Antonio. They were close friends before they realized they had something more.

We decided to go on a hike at Pedernales Falls State Park. Armed with sunscreen and a camelbak, we hiked to two different waterfalls before deciding to call it a day. He got up first, helping me up with one hand. As soon as I was standing, he got down on one knee and pulled a little blue box out of his pocket. I grabbed the ring, placed it on my finger, and said yes before he could say a single word. We were finally engaged!
