LOOKS LIKE OUR PLANS HAVE TO CHANGE

We capped 2019 with exciting news of our engagement. And as 2020 started, we were immersed in planning our big day as Fernando and I were so excited to celebrate with each and everyone one of you. However, with all the recent events happening, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone our wedding. Unfortunately, we are all living through unforeseen circumstances, and we cannot plan ahead so we're just rolling with whatever comes our way. This decision was made because the health and safety of our loved one's is our number one priority. We will be in touch with our change of plans. We hope to celebrate with you one way or another in the near future but for now, we send you all our love and wish you the best of health. - Marge and Fern P.S. We still think this site is super adorable and witty. Plus we didn't want to waste all the hours we spent putting this together, so please feel free to read through Fern's Dad jokes and have a laugh.

Manila Celebration - TBD

(est. 1/2021)

We know that some of Marge's loved ones will not be able to travel here. For that reason, we will host a more intimate celebration in Manila. Location and date are still in the planning stages. We will update this website for more information.

HOW WE MET

DO YOU LIKE WAFFLES?!

FERNANDO: Circa 2016 ... Marge and I met through "networking" as we both work in the real estate industry and it was bound to happen. She was a breath of fresh air in a sea of self- absorbed "LA" people. I started my days greeting her with a "Good Morning! Have a good day!" text message, and ended the nights with endless conversations over the phone. This was our daily routine over a course of a month or so. I knew then I had to make a move so I of course, went in for the kill with the traditional "So do you like Pancakes or waffles?" Lucky for me she said waffles. So I asked her on a date to the best brunch spot in town. For those who know Marge.... we never made it to brunch :) Our plans changed from one place to another until finally, we ended up exploring the eateries in DTLA and ended up at the classic Cole's for a Pastrami sandwich and Garlic Fries - A clear message that there would be no kissing that night.... It's okay, because i got a kiss on the ____th date and it was worth the wait.

THE PROPOSAL

Surprise, surprise!

MARGE: After months of discussing "Is marriage for us?" I had a feeling that it was going to happen soon (maybe not in 2019 but for sure IN 2020). August 2019- Fernando asked what I wanted to do for my birthday. I wasn't in the mood to celebrate with a traditional party so he planned to go out of town instead. Along with our friends Kathy and Anami, we took a trip south of the border to Mexico. August 10, 2020 - After a day and a half of fish tacos and seafood from the coast, Fernando tells us that he made reservations at a nice restaurant to pre-celebrate my upcoming birthday. As much as I tried derailing his plans, I was vetoed by the group. Unbeknownst to me, we were in the wine region of Mexico - Valle De Guadalupe, the Napa of Mexico. Fernando made reservations in a restaurant nestled in the developing luxury community, Cuartro Cuatros. The entire setting was beautiful to say the least, and our dinner was perfect! The Plan in Motion: After dinner, the girls wanted to stop for a drink at the bar. I had to use the ladies room so Fernando came along (what a gent!) On our way back, he said that one of the girls left their wallet at the restaurant and the girls walked back. We decided to follow them to the restaurant and meet with them there. We made our way through the vineyard when Fernando started to limp. He said that he had a rock in his shoe (of course the guy in high-top sneakers would get the rock LOL! ). So we stopped under an ancient tree, lit with twinkling lights to remove the pebble.

OVERJOYED

Under The Tree of Happiness

As we stopped under the tree (which conveniently had a bistro table), Fern hands me his belt bag to fish for something sweet. In the bag I found a Ring Pop candy and I asked if that's what he wanted (yes, it crossed my mind that he was going to propose with a candy LOL!) He asked to open the candy and as I handed it to him, he got down on one knee and popped the question with the actual RING <3. Amidst tears, excitement, and joy, I said "Yes." My girlfriends who were hiding in the dark came out of the vineyards recording and capturing the moment. They too were just as excited as I was. How did I miss it? The girl who usually sniffs everything out was so oblivious to all the signs: The girls urging me to put makeup on to "teach them" earlier that day, Fernando, who has the biggest sweet tooth, didn't order dessert; the girls leaving their wallet at the restaurant.... I don't recall the last time I felt an overwhelming feeling of joy and happiness. I'm going to marry the man I love. Wiping off our tears we walked back to the bar and celebrated with margaritas and capped the night playing Cards Against Disney.
