The day we met is a day that we will never forget... Kyla walked up to Sonic to tell her brother that his ride was there. As she walked up to the door, Jordan walked up with a tray in his hand and opened the door for her. Kyla thanked him and stood inside the store waiting on her brother (although she technically wasn’t supposed to). While she waited, she spoke to someone she knew in the store. Then, Jordan spoke to her again, “what’s your name?” Kyla told him her name and he proceeded to ask when he would see her again. “I don’t know but I’ll be around” she said with a smile. Soon after, Kyla and her brother left and Jordan would be in her mind for days after, despite not remembering his name.

A few weeks after meeting, Kyla was hired at the same Sonic as Jordan. On her first day, Jordan asked if she remembered him and Kyla stated that she did. From then on, they became great coworkers. With Jordan being her manager, Kyla wanted to keep her distance. However, she could tell that she liked him because not only was he attractive, he had a great personality and was funny (and we know Kyla’s a sucker for jokesters). So Kyla did something that only kindergarteners do...she began picking on him for fun. She would bump into him purposefully and playfully hit on him at work. Jordan went along with it. One day, Kyla built up enough courage to ask Jordan for his Snapchat so she could contact him about “work stuff”. Jordan gave her his Snapchat name and they began texting as friends.

After a few weeks of texting on Snapchat, Kyla started lurking around school to see Jordan. However, Jordan was a senior so he was out of school before she knew it. One day, Jordan visited the school for some final senior stuff. Kyla comes down from Spanish class and they sat on the steps talking until his mom came to get him. It was then that Kyla knew they would start dating soon. Sure enough, within a week later, Jordan asked Kyla out. Their first date was June 7, 2017. They went to the movies, out to eat and Dave and Buster’s all in one night. They didn’t want it to end! Little did they know, that first date would be the beginning of the rest of thier lives together...

Kyla and Jordan had been living together for months at this point. They went through the many struggles that come with adulthood, starting a business, and living together. It was rough but they always remained a team and their relationship got stronger. They had been talking about marriage for a few months, but nothing too serious. Kyla had begun sending Jordan ideas for rings because she knew at somepoint he would propose, just didn’t know when. She even went as far as consistently checking his bank account to see when he bought it 😂On October 23, 2019, they were supposed to go get manicures after shopping at Walmart. However, Jordan had to go to work that afternoon so they ran out of time. As they were putting up groceries, Kyla went in the bedroom in search of something (she can’t even remember what she went in there for). She turned around and there Jordan was, on his knee in the closet with a ring in hand, asking Kyla to marry him. Kyla was in such shock and disbelief and repeatedly asked if he was serious. After Jordan said he was, she said yes and hugged him as she started crying. Jordan then made the moment even more memorable by telling Kyla the ring had belonged to his grandmother (how special!). It was one of the greatest moments of their lives.
