Our romance started at a very young age. We were like Romeo and Juliet, except for the fact that we were five, and the only thing keeping us apart was the teacher. Through our middle school years, we drifted apart, but once high school started, we were reminded of that silly romance we once had in kindergarten. Flash forward to today, we have been together four years and about to get married. Our love has always been there, it just took a while for us to rekindle what all started back when we were five.
It was our anniversary, and I had to work, but Dylan somehow managed to get the day off. It was a long and stressful day and all I could think about was getting home to him. After work was over, he called me and said that we were meeting his family for dinner, mind you, we just got back from a week-long vacation with them just days prior. I was not thrilled about it, but I put on my happy face and we went. When we arrived at the restaurant Dylan told me that his family was going to be a half-hour late. At this point, the happy face came off and I was irritated. He told me that he wanted to visit the park that he officially asked me to be his girlfriend at three years ago. I told him he was crazy if he thought I was going to go walking with him through the park when it was raining. He finally wore me down, and I can't thank him enough, because waiting for me at the park was a trail of semi-lit candles and my best friend, Riley, waiting to capture the moment. He didn't say anything when we got out of the car, he just walked me down the trail and asked me to marry him in the pouring rain.
